John Michael is named APD of Top 40 KLSX (97.1 AMP Radio)/Los Angeles. Michael had previously been in the programming department as CBS Radio-Los Angeles, where he had been involved in programming AMP when it was the HD-2 side channel for KCBS-FM.
CBS Radio-Houston announces the following changes: CHR KKHH afternoon host Dave Morales will segue to afternoons on Hot AC KHMX effective May 21. Kaden, who most recently handled nights at the former KMVK/Dallas, will take over afternoons at KKHH. KHMX PD/morning guy Keith Scott and producer John Whalen both exit.
CHR WNOU (RadioNOW 100.9)/Indianapolis welcomes Indianapolis native Riggs forAPD/nights/Imaging. Riggs previously held programming posts CHR WYKS/Gainesville and WKXJ/Chattanooga. Riggs, who starts on May 26, previously worked at WNOU in 2000. Riggs replaces Austin who is now doing mornings at WJFX/Fort Wayne. “After going through over 300 applicants, Riggs gets it. He gets the RadioNOW brand. With that and his witty personality, I’m sure he’ll have no problem doing a show and washing my car,” says PD Tim Rainey.
CHR WXKS/Boston's Matty In The Morning adds morning at sister Hot AC WSNE/Providence, filling the void left when Tad Lemire exited during the most recent wave of Clear Channel changes.
Mark Hamlin joins AC KUDL/Kansas City for PD/morning duties. Hamlin was most recently at Entercom AC sister WSPA/Greenville. Hamlin replaces Thom McGinty who exits after ten years with the station.
Charlene Lewis exits middays at AC KBEZ/Tulsa due to budget cuts.

Karim Karmi joins Original Signal Recordings as EVP/GM of the independent record label. Karmi had previously been a VP for three years at Epic Records. Sheridan Broadcasting is selling Pittsburgh it's properties to St Joseph's Missions for $8.9 million, reports the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. Included in the deal are Urban WAMO-FM, Smooth R&B and Classic Soul WAMO-AM, and Black Gospel/Christian Teaching WPGR.
Sandusky Seattle Radio Group launches its Quu technology, a new platform developed by Quu, Inc. to allow more interactivity between radio stations and listeners. A listener can send a text message in to the station for more information about a song, an ad or to contact the DJ. The Quu system will respond to the listener with the proper info, and also offers opportunities for contesting, voting, coupons and more. "As we prepare for the second decade of the 21st century, the world of media is changing all around us. We can do one of two things – either embrace these new opportunities or die a slow death," said Marc Kaye, VP/GM of Sandusky Radio Seattle. "Quu provides an additional and significant level of engagement and whose ROI is more readily documented – a greater advertiser requirement in this brave new world. Mobile music and entertainment company mSpot announces a deal with CBS Radio and Last.fm, which will add over 100 CBS stations and Last.fm's personalized radio service to mSpot's mobile radio lineup. Jacobs Media's jacAPPS iPhone application division has announced the addition of new features available for radio stations' apps: Alarm Clock Radio, Foreground & Background Streaming, iTunes Tagging and Sponsor/Promotion Panels. "Since we introduced jacAPPS last November, we’ve become the largest developer of ‘stationalized’ iPhone applications for radio in the world," Jacobs Media President Fred Jacobs comments. Fox will be the exclusive sponsor of Clear Channel’s iheartradio application on the iPhone and BlackBerry on Monday, May 18 and Tuesday May 19 to promote the debut of the new series Glee, which will air after the American Idol finale tomorrow night.
