October 17, 2005
ABC Radio Networks has launched a comprehensive new Web site, ABCRadio.com, incorporating new features that provide a central location for listeners, advertisers and affiliates to obtain complete information related to all of ABC Radio's News/Talk, Sports, Music & Entertainment, and Urban & Hispanic programming. The new site features an ABC/ESPN Radio podcasting directory, as well as free on-demand streaming audio clips from programs like The Sean Hannity Show, Mike And Mike In The Morning, The Dan Patrick Show, Satellite Sisters, and The Michael Baisden Show. Visitors also have access to an affiliate search tool which locates area radio stations that broadcast ABC Radio shows. Furthermore, the content for ABC Radio Networks programs is enhanced with a simple navigation tool, details about major national promotions, and links to individual show Web sites. ABCRadio.com also includes sections dedicated to advertisers and affiliates, including links to all ABC Radio-owned and operated stations and advertising sales information.
"With its exciting new design, ABCRadio.com has created what is probably the most comprehensive and complete Web site in network radio," said Sr. Director of New Media Marc Horine. "The improvements to the site reflect our commitment to enhancing the listening experience of our audience and serve as the complete online portal for all of ABC Radio Networks' programs and offerings."
In other ABC Radio news, Omar Thompson has been appointed VP/Marketing and Communications. Thompson will be based in Dallas and will report to ABC Radio President Jim Robinson. In his new role, Thompson will oversee all of the marketing and communications initiatives for ABC Radio's products and services.
"Omar comes to ABC Radio Networks with a great deal of experience and a proven track record in network radio," said Robinson. "His expertise will serve ABC Radio Networks well as we continue to enhance the marketing and communications efforts for all of our programs and initiatives."
Thompson commented, "I am honored to be joining ABC Radio Networks, which leads the industry in award-winning content and has many of the best brands in the business. With its outstanding lineup of programming, ABC Radio Networks is unrivaled in its leadership in the radio industry. I am excited to help build the brand message around all of its products and offerings."
