Lil Wayne's long-awaited Rebirth album, which is said to be more Rock-focused, is finally set to come out on August 18. Weezy recently told MTV News that production is finished on the album, after it was pushed back several times.
"Expect great music. That's all I ever want them to expect from me," Wayne said after the MTV Movie Awards. "I wanted to grow and show my growth as well. It's a difference from when you go in a room and come out and you're better and everyone says, 'How did you do that?' So with this album, I wanted everyone to see my growing pains."
Weezy has also been working on a collaboration album with T-Pain called T-Wayne, and on top of that, he just wrote a song for Los Angeles Lakers star Kobe Bryant. The track, called "Kobe Bryant," combines Bryant interview clips, announcer accolades, and Wayne spitting rhymes about the player's greatness, as well as how he and Kobe are both the best at their respective games.
