After scoring multiple hit singles at Rock radio off 2008's Rise And Fall, Rage And Grace, The Offspring are starting to plot out their next record. Guitarist Kevin "Noodles" Wasserman spoke to Billboard about the band's plans and revealed that frontman Dexter Holland recently met with producer Bob Rock."They kinda went over a couple of things that were left off the last record," Noodles said, "and songs that were even left off Splinter or maybe even Conspiracy of One and kind of looked at some things with free eyes and see if there was anything there that can be worked on."
He adds that the Offspring hope to put out their next album by the end of 2010 but won't enter the studio until January, especially since the band rarely writes while touring. "It's really hard to do that," he said. "It almost never happens."
The Offspring will tour North America into July, then spend the rest of the summer in Europe. Noodles said the band will likely play Australia and perhaps return to the U.S. once more before the year is up.
