Quick Hits: Maroon 5, NIN, Limp Bizkit, David Bowie, Aerosmith, MGMT
July 7, 2009

Maroon 5

Maroon 5 singer Adam Levine checked in with Rolling Stone from Switzerland, where the band is currently recording new songs for the follow-up to 2007's It Won't Be Soon Before Long. The record will be produced by Mutt Lange and Levine says the new album "hasn't necessarily taken shape yet." Maroon 5 has also recorded a cover of Frank Sinatra's "The Way You Look Tonight" for an upcoming iTunes tribute to the Chairman.

Trent Reznor has announced a few final "Wave Goodbye" dates in North America for Nine Inch Nails. Reznor wrote on NIN.com's message board that the band will play a handful of shows in New York City, Chicago and Los Angeles in smaller venues, along with the Virgin Festival in Toronto. More details on specific dates and ticket info will be announced soon.

After logistical reasons caused Limp Bizkit to cancel their first U.S. appearance in eight years, the band has now rescheduled the show as a free concert. The Bizkit were supposed to play as part of this weekend's UFC 100 pay-per-view event in Las Vegas, but will instead play a free show at the Pearl Concert Theater at the Palms Casino Resort in Vegas on Saturday, July 18.

David Bowie fans will have the chance to remix the classic "Space Oddity," via a new digital EP that will be released July 20. According to Bowie's official website, the EP includes four different versions of the songs and eight "stems" of the tune that can be remixed.

Aerosmith has postponed tonight's show in Raleigh, NC and Thursday's in Charlotte, due to an as-yet-unspecified injury to singer Steven Tyler. Guitarist Joe Perry confirmed via Twitter that Tyler was hurt. When the band returns to the road, guitarist Brad Whitford will rejoin the lineup from the disabled list as well.

MGMT's debut EP, Time To Pretend, has been re-issued and re-mastered. The 2005 release included the original versions of the band's hits "Time To Pretend" and "Kids."
