Mega Media's Dance/Top 40 WNYZ (PULSE 87)/New York is in danger of going off the air if it doesn't raise enough funds to stay afloat. The local station lacks the big financing of big corporations and is taking an appeal to its more than 800,000 listeners. The station's website posted a message detailing the need for donations.
   
PULSE 87, New York's New Dance Leader, is urging you to save PULSE 87. For more than a year, we've brought dance music back to NEW YORK. New music every week. Unique mixes every day. Dance music every hour. Now, we're getting close to our final hour. Due to the economic situation we are all facing, and the fact that we are a small company, PULSE 87.7 FM is in a unique predicament. We have reached a crossroad where a decision needs to be made.
   
The station says they have approximately one week left on the air if they do not generate the appropriate funds to stay afloat.

The Grand Rapids Press is reporting  that Clear Channel Modern Rocker WMAX/Grand Rapids is switching formats in August to Sports. The station will air ESPN Radio be known as ESPN 961.

Last month, flooding at a radio festival in Grand Rapids, MI trapped hundreds of concertgoers' cars in a parking lot. Now, NPR-Michigan reports that a class action lawsuit has been filed against Clear Channel and Country WBCT (B-93.7)/Grand Rapids. Attorney John Tallman filed the suit and says that "the flooding occurred relatively slowly. And they had warning. There was a window of opportunity to number one, stop people from parking there, and number two, move the vehicles that were parked there."

Emmis-Austin re-assigns News KLBJ morning team Todd Jeffries and Don Prior, after Prior's repeated use of a ethnic slang term last week. Jeffries is taken off air but remains Music Direcotr, while Prior will take a TBD role off-air.

Katz 360 Sales, the digital sales arm of the Katz Media Group, adds two Senior Sales Directors in New York and Los Angeles. Thomas Mancusi joins Katz 360-New York as a Senior Account Director from CBS Radio Sales-New York, where he was Director of Sales. Erik Carlson, who was a Senior Sales Associate at Google, takes on the role of Senior Account Director for Katz 360-Los Angeles.

Sirius XM Radio has announced BMW customers will receive an introductory three-month trial subscription of the "Sirius Everything" package upon the purchase of Sirius-equipped Certified Pre-Owned BMW vehicles sold in the U.S. BMW will continue to offer Sirius as an exclusive factory-installed option on all new BMW vehicles with a one-year bundled subscription included in the price of the vehicle. Sirius has been available as a factory-installed option on all BMW vehicles sold in the U.S. since 2004.

Former file-sharing network Kazaa is the latest to attempt a legit re-invention, reports Digital Music News. The new Kazaa is a subscription-based service, with unlimited downloads for $19.98/month, though songs are encoded with DRM protection and are PC-only.

Veteran radio programmer Dave Cowan is named PD at Non-Comm 88nine Radio/Milwaukee. Since 2005, Cowan has held a number of top positions with stations and station groups in the Missoula, Montana area, including as market manager for a seven-station cluster with GapWest.
