Lady Gaga | MTV News reports that Lady Gaga will debut a brand new song on Saturday Night Live this weekend, as well as perform her current hit "Paparazzi." The new track is expected to appear on an expanded version of her album, titled The Fame: Monster, which is slated for a November 24 release. Speaking to Hot AC KMYI (Star 94.1)/San Diego, Gaga said, "I'm going to put out a kind of new body of work. It's kind of a re-release but [with] more songs than you usually get on a re-release."
As was rumored, Diddy has officially signed with Interscope Records. Under the new partnership, all of Diddy's future releases will be distributed via Interscope, as will albums by any future artists to join his Bad Boy Records roster. All artists currently signed to Bad Boy will continue to release projects through Warner Music Group. Diddy’s upcoming sixth album, Last Train To Paris, will be the first release of the new joint venture. The single, "Love Come Down," will be serviced physically and digitally this week with a video to follow shortly. "I am excited to be partnering with Jimmy Iovine and the Interscope Records family on all my future music ventures which include my career as a recording artist and upcoming record label," said Diddy. "With this new deal, I look forward to signing music's next great superstars to the label and continuing the legacy of making great music at my new home. This is the beginning of a new musical era for Bad Boy."
Chris Brown has premiered his new single, "I Can Transform Ya," on his website, MechanicalDummy.com. It is the first official song Brown has released since his February altercation with Rihanna and also the lead single from his upcoming album, Graffiti. The upbeat song features Lil Wayne and was produced by Swizz Beatz. Swizz recently spoke to MTV News about working with Brown and said the singer has "something to prove." He also said Wayne delivered one of his best verses.
Paul McCartney's three-night run at the new Mets stadium, Citi Field, will be captured on an upcoming two-CD/one-DVD set titled Good Evening New York City. Each night’s 33-song set was filmed with 15 high-definition cameras, plus an additional 75 flipcams were distributed to the audience to capture all angles of McCartney’s performance. Good Evening New York City will be released on November 17 via Hear Music. Also, a deluxe edition will feature both expanded packaging and a bonus DVD of McCartney performing atop the marquee of the Ed Sullivan Theatre in New York on July 15 as part of The Late Show With David Letterman.
On October 13, WIDEawake Entertainment Group will release Snoop Dogg's The Lost Sessions Volume 1, containing previously unreleased songs recorded during his tenure with Death Row Records from 1992 to 1997. Guests on The Lost Sessions Volume 1 include The Lady of Rage, Tha Dogg Pound, Bad Azz and Tray Deee. An exclusive version that will be sold at Best Buy and Napster includes three bonus cuts titled "Quite Obvious," "Once Again" and "Got To Do Wrong."Rush will release a new "best of" live DVD on November 17 that culls performances from three other live Rush DVDs. Working Men includes a dozen songs from Rush In Rio, R30 and Snakes & Arrows Live, as well as the previously-unreleased "One Little Victory." If Bob Dylan's upcoming Christmas music album wasn't surprising enough, it has been announced that Citibank rewards program members can receive the album digitally a week before its release on October 13. As previously reported, all of Dylan's royalties from Christmas In The Heart will go to Feeding America, an organization that provides meals to the hungry. Three-fourths of the founding members of R.E.M. reunited on Monday night in Athens, GA, when retired drummer Bill Berry played with Mike Mills and Peter Buck. Buck is currently on tour with Scott McCaughey, Steve Wynn and Linda Pitmon as The Baseball Project and the musicians jammed together on covers of The Beatles' "Ballad Of John And Yoko" and the classic "Hang On Sloopy." Staind singer Aaron Lewis has announced his latest solo tour, which begins New Year's Day in Henderson, NV, with dates announced up to February 25 in Hammond, IN. Staind is currently on tour opening for Creed. The previously-announced U.K. deluxe edition of Chickenfoot's self-titled debut album has been delayed from October 26 to November 23. The limited edition set includes a bonus DVD of live footage, interviews and music videos. Grammy-winning producer Greg Ladanyi has passed away at the age of 57, after suffering severe head trauma last week. Ladanyi had recorded with Fleetwood Mac, Jackson Browne, Warren Zevon, Don Henley and many more. He had been touring with musician Anna Vissi and fell 13 feet before her performance in Cyprus last week, fracturing his skull, ribs and chest.
