The 2009 mtvU Woodie Award nominees have been announced. The college music channel's artist of the year award is the "Woodie Of The Year" and the nominees are Asher Roth, Kings Of Leon, Drake, Silversun Pickups and MGMT. The nominees for the "Performing Woodie" award for best live band are Green Day, Phoenix, 3OH!3, Animal Collective and POS. The 2009 mtvU Woodie Awards will be held November 18 at New York's Roseland Ballroom, and air Friday, December 4, at 10 p.m. ET on mtvU, MTV, MTV2 and Palladia.

MTV's reality show about the late DJ AM and his battles with addiction will air. The network has announced that with the blessing of the family of AM (real name Adam Goldstein), Gone Too Far will begin airing on Monday, October 12 at 10 p.m. ET. "After careful consideration we have decided to air the show," Goldstein's family said in a statement. "Adam felt strongly that by doing this series, he could help other addicts who were at a crisis point to get sober. Adam was fully aware that if it were not for his own sobriety, he never would have achieved the level of success and happiness he had found. Helping people in their recovery was a huge part of Adam's life. It is our hope through airing this show that people will get to see the side of Adam that we knew and loved, not just the celebrity DJ, but the honest and caring person who gave so much of himself to help others. The decision to air the show has been difficult, but we do this with the profound belief that it will inspire others to seek help."

Lady Gaga participated in multiple sketches and performed twice on Saturday Night Live, with a cameo from Madonna along the way. Gaga and the Material Girl had a mock fight during the "Deep Dish House" dance music sketch. While Gaga was expected to perform her new single, "Bad Romance," for her second song (after "Paparazzi"), instead she sang a medley of "LoveGame," "Poker Face," "Bad Romance" and new improvised lyrics about living in New York.

Singer Christina Milian, who married producer/songwriter The-Dream in September, is now expecting their first child. Milian confirmed the news to People magazine. Her new album, ironically titled Elope, is expected out early in 2010.

Our Lady Peace kick off a new round of U.S. tour dates on October 19 in Solana Beach, CA, winding up in Jacksonville on December 4. The band has just released "The End Is Where We Begin" as the second single off their new album, Burn Burn.

Rockers Puddle Of Mudd will release a new album later this year. Volume 4: Songs In The Key Of Love & Hate is due out December 4, with their new single "Spaceship" arriving at radio next week.

Wu-Tang Clan member Method Man (aka Clifford Smith) has reportedly turned himself in to the Staten Island D.A.'s office for owing over $34,000 in back taxes between 2004-2007. The Staten Island Advance reports he could face up to four years in prison if convicted of repeated failure to file his taxes and a misdemeanor charge of failure to pay taxes.

American Idol finalist Allison Iraheta has released her debut single ,"Friday I'll Be Over U," which is exclusively streaming here via PopEater. In an interview with the site, Iraheta says of her upcoming album, "There will be some ballads and some upbeats maybe you can dance to songs, but they all pretty much come out as a rock vibe."
