In a SEC filing, Westwood One has announced that it is amending its debts, by agreeing to pay down its Senior Notes between $15-20 million, depending on a pending stock offering and the sale or leasing off of its buildings in Culver City, CA. If the stock offering and building deal are not completed by March 31, 2010, WW1 will pay down $3.5 million in Senior Notes. WW1 has also warned that it is revising its fiscal projections for the rest of this year and into 2010, due to the weak advertising market.

The House Committee on Energy and Commerce has passed the Local Radio Freedom Act, which eliminates third-adjacent channel interference protection for FM stations, allowing for new low-power FMs across the country. The LPFM bill next goes to the full House of Representatives. A similar bill will be voted on soon by the Senate Commerce Committee.
