Leona Lewis
Leona Lewis says she is still in "horrible shock" after a man punched her in the head during a London book signing on Wednesday. The man, Peter Kowalczyk, had been waiting in line but then unexpectedly struck her before being detained by security. He was charged with common assault and is being held under the Mental Health Act at a psychiatric hospital, according to BBC News. Meanwhile, Lewis was taken to a hospital but did not need treatment for her injuries. However, she canceled a promotional visit to Germany on Thursday in the wake of the attack. A message on her MySpace page reads, "Thank you so much for your support it is truly overwhelming. Yesterday was a horrible shock and left me extremely hurt and upset. I'm very sorry to those I wasn't able to meet at the signing. Thank you again for all of the lovely messages." Lewis' second album, Echo, is scheduled for release next month.

Spike TV will honor The Rolling Stones' Keith Richards with the "Scream 2009" Rock Immortal Award at the network's annual Scream awards show. "Keith Richards is part rock god, part superhero and nobody had rocked as hard and lived to tell about it,” said Casey Patterson, Spike TV SVP of talent development and event production. "As his friend Johnny Depp once pointed out, Keith Richards was a beloved and feared pirate long before he ever played the part in any movie."

Former KISS drummer Peter Criss is speaking out about his battle with breast cancer as part of National Breast Cancer Awareness month, in order to raise the profile of this rare disease. Like many others, Criss wasn't aware men could get breast cancer, but in February 2008, he had surgery to remove what doctors thought was a harmless nodule. Later, he learned the nodule was actually breast cancer. Because the cancer had been caught early, Criss did not need breast reconstruction or chemotherapy, and he is now cancer free. "I flipped out. I just couldn't believe it. It's a nightmare," he told CNN. "I was angry at everything. I couldn't believe I had this. I was a really angry guy for a long time." However, Criss offered this advice: "Don't sit around playing Mr. Tough Guy. Don't say 'It's going to go away.' It might not and you might not see life anymore and how beautiful that is."

AC/DC, Madonna and U2 are all up for the same two Billboard Touring Awards, which will be handed out in New York on November 5. The awards are based on global box office numbers reported to Billboard Boxscore from October 1, 2008, through September 30, 2009. The three acts are finalists for the Top Tour and Top Draw awards, which acknowledge the top grossing and ticket selling tours, respectively. Meanwhile, Ozzy Osbourne will get the Legend Of Live award, and nominees for the Breakthrough Award (top-grossing artists in their first decade as a national headlining act) are Lil Wayne, Taylor Swift, Kings Of Leon and Il Divo.

Tool frontman Maynard James Keenan has announced a new EP from his Puscifer side project. Jokingly titled C Is For (Please Insert Sophomoric Genitalia Reference Here), the six song EP includes new songs, live tracks and remixes. Puscifer will be touring the West Coast this fall, with plans for the rest of the country in 2010.

The Flaming Lips have reportedly recorded a cover version of Pink Floyd's entire Dark Side Of The Moon album, according to The Los Angeles Times. The Lips played a special show in L.A. yesterday to celebrate the release of their new album Embryonic and told the audience in a special Q&A session that the Floyd album could be a digital-only release, and includes contributions from Henry Rollins and Peaches.

Hip-Hop group Bone Thugs-N-Harmony will reunite this year and release a new album, Uni5: The World's Enemy, on December 22. The group will hold a press conference to discuss the reunion on Wednesday, October 21.

Up-and-coming rockers Fools For Rowan will release their album Twisted, Tied Up, Tangled, featuring the single "Burnt Around The Edges," on Lava Lamp Records on November 9.
