Alice In Chains | Alice In Chains will offer fans a branded iPhone app on October 27. The Black Gives Way To Blue app features three full songs from the band's new album, as well as music videos, news, photos, social networking, tour dates, a band bio, discography, fan wall for commenting, access to Alice In Chains merchandise and more.Puddle Of Mudd will unleash their fourth studio album, Volume 4: Songs in the Key of Love & Hate, on December 8. The album features the single "Spaceship," which will be available on iTunes and Amazon starting October 27. Recording Volume 4 in Vancouver and Los Angeles, Puddle Of Mudd re-enlisted the talents of Brian Howes, who produced 2007's Famous, and John Kurzweg, who produced 2001's Come Clean. "It's easy and predictable to say I'm most proud of this record," said singer Wes Scantlin, "but I think it's more appropriate to say I'm most proud of what we've accomplished as a band to this point."
Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band's "Wrecking Ball," a song debuted at the group's final gigs at New Jersey’s Giants Stadium, is now for sale at iTunes. The bundle includes the audio single plus a music video of Springsteen and the E Street Band shot during their historic run at Giants Stadium; the video was edited by Chris Hilson and Thom Zimny and is different from the footage that was previously streamed on The Boss' website, brucespringsteen.net. The song was mixed by Bob Clearmountain.
Blue October has been forced to cancel the Pick Up The Phone Tour due to the hospitalization of singer Justin Furstenfeld. Furstenfeld, who was also the spokesperson for Pick Up The Phone Tour 2009, is being treated for suffering from an extreme mental anxiety attack. His doctors have ordered that the tour - which was committed to reducing the stigma associated with mental health, depression, and suicide - be canceled to allow for his recovery. "Mental health diseases are unpredictable," says Furstenfeld. "And on the eve of this tour in support of a cause that means the world to me, I am in need of time to heal from a setback in my own personal life, which is severe enough for me to seek hospitalization. I hope that my action to seek the strength and safety of treatment will inspire others that are suffering to do the same."
Switchfoot plan to play their entire new album, Hello Hurricane, on tour this fall. The record, due out November 10, will be played in the first half of the show, followed by a set of older material. Switchfoot will also collect donations for local food banks at each show. The tour begins in San Diego on November 8, with dates announced up to December 9 in Boston. Switchfoot will also perform on Jimmy Kimmel Live on November 12.
Fall Out Boy will release a best-of set, titled Believers Never Die, on November 17. The compilation includes the new single "Alpha Dog" and a few bonus songs, as well as a DVD collection of all the band's videos, complete with commentary.
Morrissey collapsed onstage in England on Saturday night, one song into his concert. According to reports, the ex-Smiths frontman was having trouble breathing and taken to a nearby hospital. Moz was discharged from the hospital the next morning. Morrissey's current U.K. tour is primarily made of up rescheduled dates from May, which he had to originally cancel due to unspecified health problems.
Three Days Grace's new hit single "Break" will appear in tonight's NFL Network highlights package at 8p.m. Three Days Grace kick off a tour of their native Canada on November 16 in Victoria, BC.
Sugar Red Drive was involved in a serious van accident near Kalamazoo, MI over the weekend, but luckily none of the injuries were fatal. The band's vehicle hit a guardrail and flipped over. Bass player Dave Alexander suffered the most serious injuries, breaking his arm in two places, dislocating his elbow, and also breaking a thumb. He underwent surgery in a Kalamazoo hospital Sunday afternoon. The other three band members and their tour manager suffered bruises and abrasions. The band was on the road finishing up their tour with Papercut Massacre this week.
