U2 | U2 will perform in front of Berlin’s Brandenburg Gate on November 5, as part of the 16th MTV Europe Music Awards. The performance will be a free (but ticketed) event for Berlin, as a prelude to the "Fall of the Wall" celebrations in the German city. U2's manager Paul McGuinness said, "It'll be an exciting spot to be in, 20 years almost to the day since the wall came down. Should be fun." Tickets will be distributed via U2.com and MTVEMA.com.
Now that John Paul Jones is happily touring with Them Crooked Vultures, he spoke to BBC News about why the rumored Led Zeppelin reunion never quite materialized. Robert Plant had said publicly that he didn't want to do a reunion, and then rumors floated that Jones and Jimmy Page considered touring with another vocalist. "Jimmy and I rehearsed a bit with Jason Bonham and we couldn't really agree on singers and that fell by the wayside," Jones told the BBC. "Then this came along and to be honest, I'm really happy." The debut album from Them Crooked Vultures, featuring the single "New Fang," is due on November 17.
Jay-Z and Alicia Keys were set to perform "Empire State Of Mind" before Game 1 of the World Series tonight, but it has been rescheduled for Game 2 due to the rainy weather in New York. MLB issued a release that stated, "The World Series performance featuring Jay-Z and Alicia Keys has been rescheduled to take place in Thursday's pre-game ceremonies, which airs on Fox starting at 7:30 p.m. Eastern. The performance was changed due to the forecast for inclement weather for Wednesday, October 28. Staging for the performance could adversely impact the field if it is wet, creating damaged and unsafe playing conditions."
The CBS Interactive Music Group and CBS Radio are exclusively debuting a track today from Paul McCartney's upcoming live CD/DVD set, Good Evening New York City. The live recording of the Beatles' classic "I've Got A Feeling" can be heard on-air and online on participating CBS stations across the country. Good Evening New York City is due out November 17.

Scott Weiland |
While Stone Temple Pilots has tour dates booked through the beginning of 2010, Scott Weiland says fans can expect a new album once the tour is complete. "When we get back, we're going to finish the album," Weiland told Spinner.com. "And then when we finish the album, there will be a big tour around its release and that will probably be a long tour." After that, Weiland says, he'll begin working on his third solo album.
Hollywood Undead will release a new CD/DVD set, Desperate Measures, on November 10. The collection includes six new studio tracks, six live recordings and a full hour-long concert on DVD. The new studio tracks were produced by Danny Lohner of Nine Inch Nails fame. Desperate Measures includes three cover songs: Motley Crue's "Shout At The Devil," Operation Ivy's "Bad Town" and Led Zeppelin's "Immigrant Song." The band is currently on tour with Atreyu.
Live Nation has struck a multi-year sponsorship deal with 901 Silver Tequila, the new tequila brand launched earlier this year by Justin Timberlake and Diab Importers. The deal makes 901 (named for the area code of Timberlake's hometown, Memphis) the official tequila sponsor of the majority of Live Nation venues throughout the country. As part of the venture, 901 Silver Tequila will have the opportunity for ticket promotions, visibility on Live Nation's in-venue video network, and signage placement in Live Nation venues.
The Killers' upcoming live CD/DVD Live At The Royal Albert Hall is due out November 10. The band is releasing a limited edition deluxe collector's package, with vinyl picture discs, posters and more. The DVD portion of Live At The Royal Albert Hall will screen in theaters across the country on November 5.
Nick Jonas of The Jonas Brothers has announced a side project, Nick Jonas & The Administration, who will release their debut album early next year. The brothers announced the new band in a MySpace posting on Tuesday titled "WE ARE NOT BREAKING UP," getting fans' worries right out of the way.
Fuse will cover the 2009 Voodoo Experience festival, taking place in New Orleans this weekend, with a special titled Fuse Fest: Voodoo 2009. The show, debuting November 6 at 10 p.m., will take viewers backstage with Eminem, The Flaming Lips, Jane's Addiction, KISS, Wolfmother and more.
