November 3, 2009

Eminem and Lady Gaga have been added as performers at the 2009 American Music Awards, which will be handed out on ABC on November 22. Already announced as performers at the 37th AMAs are Jay-Z, Alicia Keys, Jennifer Lopez and Black Eyed Peas. American Idol alumni Adam LambertKelly Clarkson, Chris Daughtry and Carrie Underwood are all slated to perform as well.

Shinedown and Papa Roach have announced co-headlining tour dates for December. Thus far only six shows have been announced: Highland Heights, KY (12/5); Erie, PA (12/6); Binghamton, NY (12/8); Cedar Rapids, IA (12/12); Rockford, IL (12/15) and Poplar Bluff, MO (12/16).

Supergroup Them Crooked Vultures have released "Mind Eraser, No Chaser" as a free download via iTunes. The self-titled album, due out November 17, is currently available for pre-order digitally on iTunes. Over the weekend, the band released a teaser video of dancing skeletons to the new song "Gunman," as a Halloween treat for fans. The video can be seen below:

The Twilight Saga: New Moon has taken over the home page of MySpace today (11/3), with an exclusive playlist from the film's music supervisor Alexandra Patasvas, Anya Marina's video for "Satellite Heart" and more. Also the video for Muse's "Undisclosed Desires" debuts on the site as well. A remix of the Muse track "I Belong To You" appears on the New Moon soundtrack. Also, FMQB Productions' special radio broadcast, The Twilight Saga: An Inside Look At New Moon, is airing on radio stations across the country now through November 22. The special features interviews with the cast and the movie’s director, Chris Weitz, along with interviews and music from the artists featured on the soundtrack.

Weezer have teamed up with Babelgum for a contest allowing fans to create video mashups from Weezer clips, available at babelgum.com/weezermashup. The band will determine the winner, who will get to meet Weezer and film the group for the day. Also, Weezer's live performance for AOL Sessions is now online. The band performed alongside Sara Bareilles, Chamillionare and yes, Kenny G. The entire set can be streamed here: music.aol.com/sessions. Weezer's new record Raditude arrived in stores today.

Thirty Seconds To Mars will debut the title track off their upcoming album This Is War in a surprising place: the new video game Dragon Age: Origins. The song "This Is War" can be heard in a trailer for the game with the full tune appearing in the game. The album This Is War is due out December 8.

Rockers Saving Abel plan to release their next record in the first half 2010. Drummer Blake Dixon tells Billboard, "Basically right now we've got the album pretty much finished, and I think if we put it out right now people would love it. But we want to make sure we're completely ecstatic with it." So the band plans to record a few more songs in January to complete the new album. Saving Abel is on tour until December 6.

Dashboard Confessional have cancelled their fall tour dates in support of the upcoming record After The Ending. The band cites a family issue as the reason for the cancellation. "We don’t take this lightly, but family has to come first," the band said in a statement. "We apologize to everyone who planned on coming to the shows. We will find a way to make it up to you."
