While The Beatles' remastered catalog is still not available digitally, Apple Corps. and EMI Music will release the Beatles In Stereo remastered box set digitally in a limited edition USB drive on December 8. The drive, shaped like the Apple Corps. green apple logo, will be limited to just 30,000 copies. In related news, Variety reports that EMI is taking on digital music store BlueBeat.com, which is illegally selling the Beatles catalog digitally. And finally, Yoko Ono, Sean Lennon and Julian Lennon will donate proceeds from the sale of their 40th anniversary version of "Give Peace a Chance." The digital single is available now at iTunes.
A Los Angeles judge has ordered the ex-members of Sublime to stop using their former band's name while performing live with new singer Rome Ramirez. Eric Wilson and Bud Gaugh have played a few reunion shows under the Sublime name, though last month the estate of late singer Bradley Nowell filed suit, claiming that Nowell's family had sole ownership of the Sublime name. "We are gratified the Court ruled in our favor and found that Bud, Eric and Rome could not use the name Sublime without first obtaining permission from Brad's heirs," Nowell's family said in a statement, according to The Hollywood Reporter. "We believe this will help protect and preserve Brad's musical legacy."

Beyoncé has been announced as the final addition to the lineup of performers at this week's 2009 MTV Europe Music Awards. She will sing "Sweet Dreams" at the awards show, which will take place in Berlin, Germany tomorrow (November 5). Beyoncé's new video for "Video Phone," her latest single featuring Lady Gaga, will also debut as part of the MTV EMA show.
Continuing their recent trend, Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band will play more albums from front-to-back when they play New York's Madison Square Garden this weekend. On Saturday, November 7, the group will perform 1973's The Wild, the Innocent, and the E Street Shuffle in its entirety for the first time. On Sunday, November 8, they'll do 1980's The River, also for the first time. Kelly Clarkson spoke to WKSC (103.5 Kiss FM)/Chicago last week, telling Ty Bentli that she is already working on her next record. "We tour throughout 2010 overseas and then we actually are probably going to have released the record in the fall of 2010," Clarkson said. She is also writing songs for other artists, as well as herself. "What's really weird is right now I've got a really cool [music] publisher I work with that has hooked me up with a lot of different writers that do a lot of tracks and stuff. So we've been writing for other artists but then I end up liking it so much that I can't give them away, but they're really different. The next record is probably going to be really different."
Bronx-born singer Mary J. Blige will sing the national anthem at Game Six of the World Series at Yankee Stadium tonight. She follows John Legend and Alanis Morissette, who have also lent their voices to the traditional pre-game performance in this series between the Yankees and the Philadelphia Phillies.
Whitney Houston will headline two concerts in Russia at Moscow's Olympisky Stadium on December 9 and at the Ice Palace in St. Petersburg on December 12. Houston's tour then takes her to Japan and Europe in 2010.
"Weird Al" Yankovic, Red Hot Chili Peppers bassist Flea and the Pixies are on the bill together for a unique charity gig in Los Angeles next month. The two-night event will benefit Winston's Village, which supports the family of Winston Bertrand, a nine-month-old baby born with lymphatic and venous malformations. Night one (December 8) will feature Black Francis of the Pixies playing alongside his Pixies bandmates, Flea, "Weird Al" (who is reported to sing the Pixies' "I Bleed"), She Wants Revenge, Love & Rockets, Michael Penn and others. Night two will be hosted by Black Francis alongside Adult Swim's Tim & Eric, Brian Posehn, Bob Odenkirk and more.
Scottish superstars Biffy Clyro are now streaming their new album, Only Revolutions (out November 9 in the U.K.), in its entirety at http://www.myspace.com/biffyclyro.
The Almost released their new album yesterday, Monster Monster, and fans can find a deluxe edition available exclusively at Best Buy. The deluxe version includes two bonus songs, a t-shirt, stickers, cards and more. The Almost is playing live in-store performances at Best Buys in Houston and Dallas this Thursday and Friday, respectively.
