Ando Media has released its October Internet radio rankings, with its new, expanding metrics in use. As previously reported, Ando now uses "Session Starts," "Average Active Sessions" and "Average Time Spent Listening." "We have not taken any metrics out of our applications; publishers will be able to choose whether or not to continue to display AQH/Cume in their console and present these figures to advertisers," said Ando COO Paul Krasinski. "Our public metrics will include SS, AAS and ATSL, which we believe provide enhanced precision and accuracy."
In October, Average Active Sessions for Ando measured stations grew 5 percent. For the participating stations on this ranker, there is an average 1.05 million people listening to streams during the Monday-Friday 6a-8p daypart. Ando notes that this is not be confused with unique audience.
Pandora jumps to #1 for Domestic rankings based on Average Active Sessions from 6a.m.-8p.m. weekdays, with 230,435 AAS and over 66.8 million session starts in October. CBS Radio is #2, followed by Clear Channel Radio, Citadel Broadcasting and Entercom at #5. When expanded to all week and 6a.m.-midnight, the rankings remained the same.
For the same daypart, All Streams Ranker based on AAS data finds CBS Radio at #1, followed by 977Music.com Corporate at #2. The top five is rounded out by Citadel, 1.fm Corporate and Entercom. Looking at all week and 6a.m.-midnight, All Streams Ranker based on AAS data puts CBS at #1, with 977Music.com at #2 again. Citadel, 1.fm and then Digitally Imported Inc. complete the top five.
