Rock KISW/Seattle will hold its "KISW Salutes The Shield" benefit on December 19 at the Snoqualmie Casino Ballroom, benefiting the Lakewood Police Independent Guild. Queensryche and Duff McKagan headline the event, which will also include a silent auction. The event is a response to the tragic deaths of four Lakewood, WA police officers, who were killed November 29 in an ambush at a local coffee shop
Premiere Radio Networks President Charlie Rahilly is tapped to run Clear Channel's new sales division, the Clear Channel Radio National Platforms Group. This new division will oversee national ad sales for Clear Channel Radio and its Digital National Sales, Creative Services Group, and Advertiser Development divisions, as well as Katz Media Group and Premiere Radio Network Ad Sales.
Sony Music Entertainment-Canada co-President Neil Foster resigns. Foster will return to the U.S. and join Columbia/Epic in an operating capacity.

Arbitron has reportedly cut about a dozen positions including twenty-seven year company vet and VP/Customer Service Ned Waugaman and nine-year Account Manager Mandy Adams. This is second time this year the company has trimmed its payroll.
Veteran Sports Radio/Television host, journalist and commentator Stephen A. Smith joins the FOX Sports Radio Network as a talk show host and regular contributor. Smith will lend his expert analysis, straight-forward commentary and unique perspective as he joins various FSR programs to discuss all things sports and entertainment, as well as breaking news. In addition, Smith will host a new national weekday program for the network beginning January 4, 2010. More details will be announced in the near future. Smith will also continue to serve as a sports columnist for The Philadelphia Inquirer; political/lifestyle commentator for several cable news networks; and regular fill-in host for The Steve Harvey Morning Show.
Dare 2 Dream, one of Chicago’s hottest fanfare events, kicks off its seventh benefit event on Friday, February 5th, 2010 at the House of Blues in Chicago. The Grammy nominated Gov’t Mule will perform to support pediatric cancer research and treatment. A portion of the event’s proceeds will benefit the University of Chicago Comer Children’s Hospital, which proudly employs teams of pediatric experts that use advanced diagnostic and medical techniques to care for children of all ages. The event will be hosted by Chicago’s Platform One Entertainment with support from The Lisa Klitzky Foundation, SPIN Magazine, 93XRT, Chicago Reader, Redeye and North Shore Magazine.
The FCC will reportedly release its new required ownership report this Wednesday, after two delays. Form 323 must be filed with the Commission by January 11, 2010.
