Mathew Blades joins Hot AC KMXP/Phoenix for mornings. Blades arrives from the afternoon post at Adult Hits WLWK/Milwaukee. Blades is slated to be in in place in early March.
At AC KEZK/St. Louis, Dana Daniels shifts from mornings to middays, replacing Kris Kelly. Ed Goodman remains in mornings. Afternoon host Jim Doyle exits and is replaced by Eric Kane until a permanent replacement is found.
Amanda Valentine is named producer of Hot AC KALC/Denver's Slacker And Steve afternoon show. Valentine was most recently morning show co-host/Producer at CHR WPXY/Rochester.
The Albany Times-Union reports, Albany Broadcasting is shedding the Talk format at WROW-AM/Albany, with the station now simulcasting AC sister WKLI, which will air on both stations for a few months before permanently moving to the AM side.

MySpace has announced it will being running audio ads on the MySpace Music player, offering audio ad inventory alongside display ads. MySpace Music has signed an exclusive deal with the CBS Radio-backed company, TargetSpot, for TargetSpot's online ad platform.
Jeff Bronikowski is named the new Head of Yahoo! Music. Bronikowski was most recently SVP/Digital Strategy and Corporate Development for Classic Media. Bronikowski succeeds Michael Spiegelman, who becomes the Head of Product for the Entertainment and Lifestyles portfolio.

Congratulations to the folks at Glassnote Records, as Phoenix have nabbed the #1 single at Modern Rock radio with "1901." Phoenix is only the fourth band signed to an independent label to reach #1 in the Modern Rock chart’s 20+ year history, following The Offspring, Everlast and Silversun Pickups. MTV has updated its logo, dropping "Music Television" as the tagline from its iconic logo. According to the network, the updated version of the MTV logo "represents a new visually defined MTV, stimulating its past, present and future and embracing its diversity. Everything from Jersey Shore, to the VMAs to collaborations with the MoMA. The logo is part of MTV’s re-invention to connect with today’s millennial generation and bring them in as part of the channel."
Universal Music Group (UMG) and Bally Total Fitness have announced a two-year agreement whereby Bally will use MP3 downloads to acquire new members, reward member loyalty and incentivize employee sales performance. Bally has committed to purchase 4.5 million downloads from Universal to distribute as premiums to its new members during monthly promotions and to current members at important milestones in their membership. Beginning in March, most new members will receive 20 music downloads with their Bally membership. The downloads can be redeemed at a Bally branded site that Universal Music will build and can be accessed through Ballyfitness.com.
Internet radio company Goom Radio adds 16-year-old host Zach Sang, launching "Zang Radio" tomorrow (2/10). He will host a teen-oriented weekly series on Goom Radio, airing 7-9 p.m., featuring teen stars from Disney Channel and Nickelodeon as guests.
