Jack Johnson
As previously announced, Jack Johnson will release his new album, To The Sea, on June 1 via his own label, Brushfire Records. The first single from the album, "You And Your Heart," will be released to radio in early April. Now, Johnson has unveiled a massive world tour to go along with the new tunes. Dates for his summer trek in the U.S. begin on July 9 in Hartford, CT and end with two nights at the Santa Barbara Bowl on October 13 and 14. For Johnson's To The Sea tour, his production team will continue to pave the way in green touring practices and community engagement. Greening actions include fueling tour vehicles with sustainable biodiesel, offering eco-friendly tour merchandise, and promoting ride share programs. In addition, venues and fans are encouraged to reduce waste, recycle, use water refill stations and offset carbon emissions.
After recently wrapping up a trek with Three Days Grace and Breaking Benjamin, Flyleaf will launch a U.K. tour on March 22. The band will then return to the States for a series of radio festivals and their own headlining tour that will kick off on May 4 in Albuquerque, NM. Fair To Midland and Ten Years will open on the tour, which wraps on June 5 in Reno, NV.
Axl Rose was forced to cancel a show on Sunday in Rio De Janeiro, Brazil, but this time it wasn't his fault. Heavy rain caused the stage to collapse, and hence the show could not go on for Guns N' Roses. Rose explained via Twitter that the concert might happen tonight or at a later date, but they're still assessing the damage. "There fortunately are no fatalities but there are injuries from both our camp and Rio crews," Rose tweeted. He later updated to say "all injuries appear to be minor." Guns N' Roses resume their South American tour on Tuesday night at Porto Alegre's Gigantinho and are scheduled to play through April 1 in Ecuador.
British act One eskimO will appear on the Ellen Degeneres Show on Wednesday, March 17. The band is supporting their self-titled, debut album, which is out now on Shangri-La Music.
