Kansas City listeners got a new station today as Cumulus puts a current-based Rock station on the air at 103.7 FM.  The station kicked off with Metallica's "Fuel" and is currently running commercial and jock free. 

Arbitron has announced a slew of new members to the expanded Arbitron Radio Advisory Council. The new representatives for Diary markets are: Erik Hellum, President, Gap Broadcasting; Frank Osborn, President, Qantum Communications; Craig Jacobus, President, South Central Communications; and Dan Savadove, CEO, Main Line Broadcasting. For PPM markets the new rep is John Fullam, VP/Market Manager, Greater Media, Philadelphia, and the additional Urban position goes to Deon Levingston, VP/GM, Inner City, New York. The new rep for Researcher is Amy Vokes, VP of Research, Radio One; Digital Radio is Deb Esayian, President, Emmis Interactive; Network Radio is David Landau, President and CEO, Dial-Global; and Public Radio is Bill Davis, President and CEO, Southern California Public Radio.

FCC Chairman Julius Genachowski will deliver a keynote speech during the 2010 NAB Show in Las Vegas. Genachowski's remarks will be made on Tuesday, April 13 at 9 a.m. The NAB Show takes place April 10-15. Complete details are available at

Oregon Media Central reports, Clear Channel's KXJM/Portland jettisons it's Jammin 107.5 moniker and is now Wild 107.5. The station remains a mix of hip-hop and pop, and so far continues to hold the KXJM call letters. Their new slogan is Portland's Party Hits.

Randa Minkarah is promoted to SVP/Business Development at Fisher Communications. Minkarah previously served as VP/Business Development.

Baltimore-based singer Lil Mos takes over afternoon drive at CBS Radio Rhythmic CHR WPGC (95.5)/Washington, DC.

The Orchard has launched a new interactive analytics tool within its client workstation. The tool uses daily and weekly sales activity generated from The Orchard's top digital retail partners, including iTunes, eMusic, Verizon Wireless, 24-7 Entertainment, Deezer, and YouTube, to display full-scope sales information on specific releases through charts, line graphs and an interactive heat map. Data from additional digital retailers will be added to the analytics tool in the coming weeks.

On April 20, The Media Bureau is holding its next media ownership workshop in Tampa as part of its process of preparing for the quadrennial ownership review. Among the issues on the agenda are newspaper-broadcast cross-ownership and its impact on news and public affairs programming. The workshop will be held at the University of South Florida.

Premiere Radio Networks elevates Eric Stanger to VP of Operations for The Sean Hannity Show from the Director of Affiliate Marketing post. Stanger will oversee all aspects of the daily operations of The Sean Hannity Show, including production, affiliate relations and marketing, and staff management. 

Sports WDFN-AM/Detroit welcomes Jim Rome for a live meet and greet at the Northville Downs race track, today from 3-6 p.m. Thirty lucky fans who won VIP tickets to the event will get a chance to meet Rome and participate in a Q&A session. Plus, WDFN's Drew Sharp and Tom Kowalski will broadcast live on location from 3p-6p. The event is open to the public and will also feature live harness racing, multiple TV’s tuned to the NCAA College Basketball Tournament and more.
