A variety of U2 news has come out in recent days. R&B producer/singer Dave Hollister, who was one-fourth of '90s group BLACKstreet, tweeted earlier this week that he was "In the studio working with U2! Man I'm excited! Bono baby!" He revealed that the band is "doing some classics" and apparently re-recording or re-working Rattle And Hum's "All I Want Is You" and "Grace" from All That You Can't Leave Behind. No other information about the project is known at this time.
In related news, the Spider-ManBroadway musical, Turn Off The Dark, is finally back on track. The show, featuring songs penned by Bono and The Edge, had been stalled by financial troubles but the New York Times reports it is now slated to begin full cast rehearsals on August 16. Reeve Carney, frontman for the Rock band Carney, will star as Peter Parker and recently confirmed via Twitter that choreography rehearsals had begun this week. According to the Times, previews for the show will likely begin in November.
Last but not least, Italian soccer team Juventus must move their Europa League match out of Turin due to U2's 360 World Tour. The team is slated for a match on August 6, the same night U2 will be at their home Stadio Olimpico. The NME reports that the match is being moved 200 miles away, to Modena. August 6 is the first date of the European leg of the 360 tour and the first show for U2 since Bono's recovery from back surgery.
