The Buzzard flew south to find its new PD and came back with Clear Channel-Jacksonville programmer Bo Matthews. Matthews has been pulling double duty in Jacksonville, programming both Modern Rock WPLA and Top 40 WFKS. Now he's taking over the PD post at WMMS/Cleveland that Jim Trapp held for the past two years. (Trapp now programs Classic Alternative KYPT/Seattle.)
In a quote that takes press release verbiage to new heights, RVP/Programming Kevin Metheny said: "We burned up the Sprint minutes and accumulated countless frequent flyer miles in pursuit of America's most innovative, fearless, unapologetic, relentless, exhibitionistic, samurai warrior rock dog program director. And we thought we found that qualification package in Bo Matthews."
Matthews' first priority (after finding the men's room): Filling the 'MMS morning show opening.
