Stern Rules The Roost in the Big Apple
April 23, 2004

The Winter numbers are in, and Howard Stern has snared the morning drive throne for the first three months of 2004 with a 7.2 share Persons 12+, outdistancing News outlet WINS (6.4). Stern also nearly doubled his numbers Persons 25-54, climbing 5.9-10.0.

His ratings surge, along with the explosion of web traffic that his site (www.howardstern.com) has created in recent months, can be credited in part to his on-air stance on his recent battles with the FCC, which have seemed to capture the hearts and minds of listeners all across the city.

Stern's flagship station, Infinity Modern Rocker WXRK, climbed 3.1-3.3 (13th to 10th place overall Persons 12+)
