Quick Hits: Katy Perry, Dave Grohl, Bonnaroo, Godsmack, Blink-182
February 13, 2012

Katy Perry has released her new single, "Part Of Me," which the Pop star debuted on last night's Grammys broadcast. After faking out the audience with a Perry impersonator starting out with "E.T.," the real Perry appeared in a glass box above the stage performing "Part Of Me." The song, which is now available on iTunes, is a post-breakup tune most likely aimed at her ex-husband Russell Brand. "Part Of Me" will also appear on Teenage Dream: The Complete Confection, the deluxe edition of her smash hit 2010 album, which is due out March 27.

Dave Grohl was ubiquitous at the Grammys on Sunday night and the Foo Fighters frontman has released a teaser trailer for his upcoming documentary. Grohl has been working on a film about Sound City Studios (apparently titled simply Sound City) where numerous albums were recorded over the years, including Nirvana's Nevermind and Fleetwood Mac's Rumors. The brief teaser, which can be seen below, includes appearances from Tom Petty Trent Reznor, Stevie Nicks, Josh Homme, Corey Taylor and many, many more. It is unknown when the Sound City Studios documentary will debut.

The Bonnaroo festival has chosen Spotify as their official announcement partner to reveal the 2012 lineup. On Tuesday, Spotify will exclusively roll out the artist lineup by posting The Bonnaroo 2012 Playlist, which features a song from each of the artists performing at this year's festival. Fans can stay posted on Tuesday by checking out the Spotify blog here.

Godsmack is almost finished recording an EP of cover songs. On Saturday, singer Sully Erna informed fans via Twitter that the band has been in the studio working on it for the last three weeks. "Today is last day of mixing the covers ep we're working on for you. I think you're gonna love this!" Erna wrote. "I want to suggest to management when they're all ready to hear, we throw them up online and let all of you decide which one is best 4 radio."

Blink-182 co-frontman Tom DeLonge is currently touring with his other band, Angels And Airwaves, and he's busy with several film projects as well. Speaking to NME about the rumors that he is currently working on an animated film called Poet Anderson, DeLonge explained, "We've got three movies ideas that we're working on, two specifically; one has a completely written script, which I can't go into yet. But the Poet movie is a very large, ambitious idea; it's about dreams and near death experiences. It'll have the pacing of a mainstream film, but it'll look very artistic. It'll allow us to create a score album that's very different to anything Angels And Airwaves has done in the past." The guitarist also said that the band will be touring more extensively in the next few months and into the summer. Asked how he planned to schedule both Blink-182 and Angels And Airwaves shows during the summer, DeLonge replied: "The Blink tour is in June and then the Angels dates will get worked in after that. But I'll be doing both bands throughout the year. We've confirmed all our production design for the European run. Mark is in London and having an amazing time, he's been writing music. We'll be going strong through May and June."
