Universal Republic Teams With Tom Whalley For Seven Four Ent

Universal Republic Records, a division of Universal Music Group (UMG), further expanded its creative team this week by inking a label deal with veteran music executive Tom Whalley’s Seven Four Ent.
"Tom is a fearless creative executive, respected industry-wide for his A&R instincts and great artistry," stated BarryWeiss, Chairman/CEO of Island Def Jam Music Group & Universal Republic. "He has been responsible for the breakout success of many of the world’s most exciting, original artists and we are delighted to be partnering with him on the launch of Seven Four Ent."

Whalley most recently spent nine years as Chairman/CEO of Warner Bros. Records, and has a long history in the music industry. He was a founding executive and President at Interscope Records and began his career in A&R at Warner, before joining Capitol Records as Head of A&R.
