Brian Thomas Named VP Of Programming At CBS Radio-Tampa
May 9, 2012

Brian Thomas has been named VP of Programming for CBS Radio's six station cluster in Tampa. The appointment is effective on Monday, June 4. CBS Radio-Tampa consists of Rhythmic CHR WLLD (WiLD 94.1), Country WQYK-FM, Sports WQYK-AM, Classic Hits WRBQ, Adult Hits WSJT and Spanish WYUU.

Thomas is currently PD at Classic Hits WCBS/New York, as well as VP of Classic Hits Programming for CBS Radio. He also worked with Classic Hits WODS/Boston for the past two years. In addition, Thomas has extensive experience as a programmer and consultant in major markets such as Los Angeles, San Francisco, Dallas, Boston, Detroit, and Seattle.

"I have long admired Brian’s creativity and warrior-like approach to programming battles," said Benjamin Hill, SVP/Market Manager for CBS Radio-Tampa. "We have the same philosophy for producing great radio – local programming featuring local personalities, executed flawlessly. Adding Brian to our dream team of talent will ensure we deliver great results across all our properties in the market."

Added Thomas, "I'm extremely proud of what we've accomplished at CBS-FM, and move on knowing the station will continue to achieve greatness. I’m thrilled to have been part of the station’s success and wish them all the best. Equally exciting for me is the opportunity to work in Tampa with multiple stations that appeal to a variety of audiences. I look forward to breaking new ground, shaping unique on-air and online experiences and strengthening the connection we have with our listeners."

"We have tremendous brands and programmers in Tampa Bay," said Greg Strassell, CBS Radio SVP of Programming.  "And we’ve always been impressed with Brian’s leadership. This winning combination of content and content creators, who are among the best in the industry, is a strong statement affirming CBS Radio's approach to building strong local radio stations."
