CBS Radio President/CEO Dan Mason will receive the National Radio Award during the Radio Show Luncheon, sponsored by Katz Media Group and held Friday, September 21. The luncheon will take place during the 2012 Radio Show, jointly produced by the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) and Radio Advertising Bureau (RAB), September 19-21 in Dallas.
     "Throughout Dan Mason's extensive career in Radio, his commitment to innovation and growth, coupled with his programming expertise, has shaped Radio as a whole," said NAB EVP of Radio John David. "We welcome the opportunity to honor Dan's contributions to Radio by presenting him with the National Radio Award."

Lindsay Lynch joins CHR KMVA/Phoenix for wake-ups. The music-intensive Hot Hits Morning Show with Lindsay Lynch launches this month.

At CHR WDZH (98.7 AMP Radio)/Detroit, APD/MD/afternoon host Grooves will exit later this month.

Programming vet Louie Diaz is named PD at Hot AC KBFF/Portland. Most recently, Diaz was PD at WMBX and WHFS/West Palm Beach.
 
Steve Shannon will join AC WAHR/Huntsville to handle mornings, effective June 18.

Kim Carson exits from middays at AC WTRV/Grand Rapids due to budget cuts. Carson will continue to appear on local NBC affiliate WZZM-TV and Take Five And Co. on Wednesday mornings, reports www.mlive.com.

With the exit of Lenny Diana as PD of WRZX (X103)/Indianapolis, Todd Violette joins the Modern Rocker as APD/MD/morning host. Mornings had previously been held down by Premium Choice's Klinger. Clear Channel-Indianapolis OM Buzz Casey will also add programming duties for 'RZX.

Robin Quivers returned to The Howard Stern Show this morning, following "major abdominal surgery." Quivers joined the show live via ISDN from her home and said, "I had a major surgery, a major abdominal surgery…and a mass was removed from my pelvic area and I do have some more recovery to do, but everything seems to be fine."

Dave Daniels is named OM for El Doarado Broadcasting's Santa Maria, CA station cluster. Daniels begins his new assignment on June 11.

Mark "Daddy Wags" Wagner will exit the morning Wags & Elliot Show at Classic Rock WLVQ/Columbus. Wagner has been a part of the station for 33 years.

Marketing and promotion veterans Paul Miraldi and Don MacLeod have teamed up to form Miraldi & MacLeod, a full-service marketing agency. Based in New York, the company will provide creative solutions, innovative campaign strategies and results-oriented marketing with a primary focus on the media, entertainment, consumer goods and political sectors. Mona Dehghan exits Domino Records to join Tell All Your Friends for Publicity duties.

Manuel Peña has been appointed to the newly-created position of EVP of Operations, Strategic Marketing & Classics for Universal Music Latin America (UMLA) and Universal Music Latin Entertainment (UMLE), which are both divisions of Universal Music Group.
     Meanwhile, John Echevarria is appointed EVP of Universal Music Publishing Group, Latin America.

The Georgia Radio Hall of Fame announces the candidates for 2012 induction in the Career Achievement category: Paul Beliveau - WMAZ/Macon, Matt Cook - WGST/Atlanta, Bill Elder - WAYS/Macon, Bob Harrison - WVLD/Valdosta, Nate Hirsch - WWNS/ Statesboro, Oscar Leverette - WNEX/Macon, John Moore - WSB/Atlanta, Johnny "Bee" Mosses - WACL/Waycross, Fred Newton - WMAZ/Macon, Lauren Nobles - WGIG/Brunswick, Ron O'Quinn - WMGA/Moultrie, Bruce Stevens - WBBQ/Augusta, Tom Sullivan - WQXI/Atlanta, Bob Todd - WQXI/Atlanta. Induction ceremonies will take place on October 29 at the Wilson Convention Center in Macon.
