Muse
After revealing a trailer on Wednesday for their upcoming album, Muse has now rolled out a series of U.K. and European tour dates. The band will be on the road from October 16 in France to December 18 in Belgium. As revealed by the album trailer, Muse's new album, The 2nd Law, is due in September.

Maroon 5 will do a Live On Letterman webcast on Tuesday, June 26. Maroon 5 will play songs from their four albums, including Overexposed, which will be released the same day as the webcast. The concert will be available on CBS.com and VEVO on June 26 at 8 p.m. EST. Maroon 5’s Live On Letterman webcast will follow the taping of their performance on the Late Show with David Letterman, which will be broadcast later that evening.

Before Miley Cyrus ties the knot with fiance Liam Hemsworth, she reportedly will release a new album. A source tells E! News that the engaged star has been quietly working on her next studio effort, which is going to be "very adult and sexy and believable." Cyrus is working with various record producers, including Pharrell Williams and Hit-Boy (Jay-Z, Eminem). The source also told E! that Cyrus is "having fun making music" for "the first time in her career" and that musically, "We are watching a young girl turn into a young woman."

A blogger who digitally restored the early singles catalogs of The Smiths and New Order is being asked to back off from a similar project involving R.E.M.'s earliest work. In a post on the R.E.M.cycle site, the blogger known as Analog Loyalist explained that Universal, the record company that owns the band's IRS Records catalog, issued a Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) takedown notice for a post on the writer's sister site, The Power of Independent Trucking, which featured a restored version of R.E.M.'s first cassette demo. "I have been having some second thoughts about this endeavour," the blogger explained. "Tell me, what role does the IFPI (of which Universal is obviously a member) have to do with unreleased material recorded when the band had no record contract? These were demos freely given away by the band. On low-fi C45 cassettes. And the IFPI thinks it's their business how?" The blogger added that he may not move forward with the project because "I don't want to see my efforts as a writer/archivist/engineer wasted."

Def Leppard performed a seven-song set of hits on Wednesday afternoon at the West Hollywood, CA, House of Blues that will be webcast on YouTube at 3 p.m. EST today (6/7). The show was held to promote three of the band's current projects: newly recorded versions of "Rock of Ages" and "Pour Some Sugar on Me," a Rock of Ages tour with Poison and Lita Ford that starts on June 20, and the movie Rock of Ages, which features three Def Leppard songs and opens on June 15. In a Q&A after their set, the band said that they'll be rehearsing 30 songs for the upcoming tour, and the bulk of the show will come from material from Pyromania and later albums.

After the virtual Tupac Shakur performance at April's Coachella festival became an internet sensation, Elvis Presley will be the next artist to be digitally resurrected. Digital Domain Media Group, the company behind the Tupac hologram, has announced an exclusive deal with the Core Media Group to jointly produce a series of virtual Elvis likenesses for a range of entertainment projects, from shows and appearances to film, TV and multi-platform productions throughout the world. Digital Domain says it will announce soon where audiences can expect to see the first virtual Elvis performances.

Beatles fans in Germany will be out of luck when the the Beatlemania Museum in Hamburg closes at the end of this month. The museum, which has a collection of over 1,000 pieces of memorabilia, opened in 2009, but a lack of interest has forced it to shut its doors. "In view of the high deficits, there is no solution left but closure, if you want to act responsibly," museum manager Folkert Koopmanns told German newspaper Hamburger Morgenpost. "A privately run museum as big as Beatlemania is condemned to fail without public support. That's a fact that we fought against until enthusiasm turned into resignation – a bitter experience."
