As Modern Rocker WFNX/Boston winds down its run, the station's alumni has organized a tribute party. "We Want The Airwaves: A WFNX Tribute" hits The Paradise Rock Club (967 Commonwealth Ave. in Boston) on Saturday, June 30 at 7 p/m. Boston favorites O Positive, Orbit, Parlour Bells, and Garvey J will perform. Past and present ‘FNX DJ’s PaulDriscoll, Adam 12, BruceMcDonald, Duane Bruce and Mike Gioscia will spin sets throughout the night. In addition, the upcoming documentary We Want The Airwaves, produced by former WFNX staffers, will be previewed. All proceeds benefit The Progeria Research Foundation, whose mission is to find treatments and the cure for Progeria and its aging-related disorders. Progeria is a fatal, "rapid aging" disease that afflicts children, who die of heart disease at an average age of 13.

The sale of the University of San Francisco's KUSF to the Univesity of Southern California has been formally approved by the FCC, following an investigation into the deal. Due to the issues surrounding the investigations, the schools will pay a $50,000 penalty to the FCC to settle the matter.
