Smashing Pumpkins

Smashing Pumpkins are streaming their entire new album, Oceania, online via iTunes, one week before the album is due in stores. Oceania is the band's first effort with the new lineup, which finds Billy Corgan backed by Mike Byrne on drums, Nicole Fiorentino on bass and Jeff Schroeder on guitar. "I've been adamant in stressing that, as a group, first and foremost, we are here to make new music together. Jeff, Mike, and Nicole have all made significant contributions to the tone and texture of Oceania, which is an album that is unlike any I've ever made," Corgan recently told NME. "Yet at the same time I believe it upholds the same musical values I've always pushed for with the Pumpkins, be they progressive, emotional, epic or restless." Fans can hear Corgan talk more about the album in the FMQB Productions radio special Inside The Smashing Pumpkins: Oceania, hosted by Corgan himself. During the program, Corgan will be presenting the 60-minute album in its entirety as he introduces and plays each side of the double vinyl release. The special can be heard on radio stations nationwide starting on June 15.

No Doubt's new album finally has a name: the effort will be called Push and Shove, and it's due on September 25. The band also revealed that the first single, "Settle Down," will make its debut on July 16. This week, No Doubt will be filming the video for "Settle Down" with director Sophie Muller, who has helmed many of the band's music videos including "Don't Speak," "Underneath It All," "Sunday Morning" and "Simple Kind of Life." As reported yesterday, No Doubt also has a handful of television appearances on tap for July, including the Teen Choice Awards on July 22, Late Night with Jimmy Fallon on July 26 and Good Morning America on July 27.

During last weekend's Download festival in the U.K., Soundgarden frontman Chris Cornell spoke to NME.com about the band's first studio album in over 15 years, which is due in the fall. Cornell said it's shaping up to be a diverse, rich album with a lot of different moods to it. "One of the things that is the nature of our band is that you can't really look at one song out of context and say, 'This is who we are' or 'This is what we sound like.' I look forward to putting out our new album where you get a collection of songs. We're an album-oriented band, so I look forward to people getting into the long form listening that has kind of disappeared over the last 10 years." As for the album's sound, Cornell added that "It's hard to describe. It's sort of like picking up where we left off. There are a lot of different feels on the album."

Adam "Ad-Rock" Horovitz will make his first public performance since the death of Adam "MCA" Yauch when he plays DJ tonight at a benefit concert for imprisoned members of the Russian punk band Pussy Riot. The show will be held at Death by Audio in Brooklyn, NY and also will feature live sets by Heliotropes, Shady Hawkins and TinVulva. Three members of Pussy Riot were charged with hooliganism and put in jail for allegedly participating in a punk rock demonstration against the regime of Russian president Vladimir Putin. The benefit show will raise money to support the musicians' legal defense.

Usher, Chris Brown and Nicki Minaj have been announced as performers at the 2012 BET Awards, where Big Sean and 2 Chainz are also slated to perform. The 2012 BET Awards will take place on July 1 at Los Angeles' Shrine Auditorium and will be telecast on BET at 8 p.m. EST.

Ludacris is putting the finishing touches on his eighth studio album, Ludaversal, and he's also working on another sequel to the Fast & Furious film series. Meanwhile, the rapper also has a cameo appearance on Justin Bieber's new album, Believe. "We're here to make history again with a new song, 'All Around the World,' that's on Justin Bieber's new album," Luda told Billboard.com while at Bonnaroo. "He's getting older, he's growing into the manhood stage and his records are reflecting that. So it's a good thing."

Lollapalooza has unveiled the daily set times and official aftershows for this year's festival, which takes place from August 3-5 in Chicago. The fully scheduled lineup, which features such heavy-hitters as The Black Keys, Black Sabbath, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Jack White, Florence and the Machine, The Shins, Franz Ferdinand and many more, can be seen at www.lollapalooza.com. Some of the artists who will be performing aftershows include Passion Pit, Frank Ocean, Childish Gambino, The Walkmen, The Afghan Whigs, Alabama Shakes, Delta Spirit, Dr. Dog and The War on Drugs.

Tori Amos will continue her exploration of classical music with her next album, Gold Dust, which is due in October. The album features orchestral re-workings of songs from throughout her career, which Amos recorded in the studio with the renowned Metropole Orchestra, conducted by Jules Buckley. "My relationship with all of these songs has changed over the years and they have changed my life," Amos says. "So it wasn’t just about capturing the past it was about realizing that the songs had a new narrative now – 10 or 20 years later than they did when I originally recorded them."
