Dan "Kennedy" Baisden is named PD at AC WAJI/FT. Wayne. Baisden, who takes over for longtime PD Barb Richards, starts on July 5. Richards will remain with the station.
Clear Channel Outdoor CEO William Eccleshare said on Monday that the company is interested in buying CBS Corp.'s outdoor billboard division. Eccleshare said that "We'll look at it," according to Bloomberg, adding "Everyone is going to be looking at it and sizing it up, seeing if there’s value to be had." The Wall Street Journal recently reported that CBS is seeking $6 billion for its outdoor unit.
Spotify introduces free streaming services for the iPhone and iPad, in a move seen as a challenge to Pandora. Spotify will also let its users create their own "stations" selecting their favorite artists and songs. Bloomberg notes that this new feature allows Spotify to pay out a lower royalty rate, as Pandora does, when it comes to its user-curated stations.
