Katy Perry

Paramount's Insurge Pictures has announced that it will offer sneak previews of the 3D movie Katy Perry: Part of Me on July 2 in 100 theaters across North America, three days before the movie's wide release on July 5. The event will play exclusively on RealD systems during the special showings. Paramount and Twitter have designated a special hashtag (#KP3D Movie Sneak) that will direct fans to a link where they can buy tickets for the advance showings. Meanwhile, on Thursday night, Perry appeared on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno and explained that she wanted to give fans an honest look at her life in the movie, including dealing with her divorce from Russell Brand. "It wasn't always exciting to watch those unflattering scenes where I'm crying and having an intense moment," Perry told Leno. "But I think that people will relate to the movie even more seeing me at my lowest point and now at my highest point."

Justin Bieber is going to collaborate with British boy band One Direction. The singer will reportedly record a track for the band's second album. "The One Direction guys are great," Bieber told The Mirror in the U.K. "We have a lot of fun whenever we hang out. They came over my house and we were just chilling out around the pool and listening to music. We were talking about me collaborating with them on a song on their next album. It’s gonna be great."

Owl City will release The Midsummer Station on August 21 via Universal Republic. Owl City's Adam Young is joined by two special guests on the album, including Blink-182's Mark Hoppus on the track "Dementia" and Carly Rae Jepsen on the duet "Good Time." Owl City will announce plans for a full world tour on July 9.

Brandy's new album, Two Eleven, will drop on August 28, according to her Facebook page. The album title is a reference to the month and date of her birthday and also a tribute to Whitney Houston, who passed away on February 11. Brandy's RCA label debut will include the singles "Put It Down" featuring Chris Brown, and the duet "It All Belongs to Me" with Monica.

R&B recluse D'Angelo will make his first televised performance in 12 years at the BET Awards on July 1. He joins previously announced performers Usher, 2 Chainz, Big Sean, Nicki Minaj, Chris Brown, and Kanye West's G.O.O.D. Music collective.

Kings of Leon's Caleb Followill and wife Lily Aldridge have welcomed into their family a new baby girl, according to Us Weekly. Aldridge reportedly gave birth on June 21 in Nashville. This is the couple's first child.

More details have been set for The Flaming Lips' plans to break the record for most concerts in a 24 hour period. The Lips will play eight concerts in eight cities on June 27 and 28 with a different opening act in each city. The band will visit Clarksdale, MS; Oxford, MS; Jackson, MS; Hattiesburg, MS; Biloxi, MS; Baton Rouge, LA and wind up in New Orleans. Additionally, the Lips have been working on a new studio album. Wayne Coyne tells Rolling Stone, "We did a session last week, and when we get a free couple weeks at the end of July we'll finish it up. I honestly think it might be the best Flaming Lips record that we've ever made."

All That Remains will unleash their sixth studio album, A War You Can Not Win, in September. The band has been working alongside producer Adam D (The Devil Wears Prada, As I Lay Dying, Killswitch Engage). "We really busted our asses and tried to do some new stuff (like we always do) and we're really happy about what came out of it," says singer Phil Labonte of the new material. "Some of it is pretty different and is really gonna blow you guys away. Some of it is gonna sound just like what you expect from ATR. And I'm sure all of it is gonna make the Internet have a conniption fit! Release is gonna be this fall and we're already working on a co-headline tour to show some of it off!"

Philadelphia Rapper Meek Mill will be embarking on his first national headlining tour at the top of August to preface the release of his debut album, Dreams & Nightmares, due on August 28. Launching from Denver's Fillmore on August 2, the tour will continue through the rest of the month before ending at New York's Irving Plaza on August 27. Tickets will go on sale starting June 30 in all markets.

Ray Davies will be doing a brief North American tour beginning in Vancouver on July 13 and running through July 22 in San Diego. Joining Davies is Los Angeles-based group 88, pulling double duty as his supporting act and backing band.
