Radio veteran Tim Virgin joins CBS Radio CHR KEGY (Energy 103.7)/San Diego for afternoons, starting today. Virgin comments, "This is the DREAM JOB! Are you kidding me? Beautiful San Diego! It's an honor to be working for master minds like Kevin Weatherly, John Michael and Bob Bolinger. I am more than excited to be a part of Energy and blessed to be back with my CBS family." Bolinger, SVP/Market Manager for CBS Radio-San Diego, adds, "Tim is the next important piece of building KEGY-FM into a great radio station. He is an amazing communicator with major market successes at connecting with contemporary audiences. Tim will follow Joe Rosati to give Energy 103.7 a formidable Midday-Afternoon combination."

Longtime CHR WKZL/Greensboro morning host Jack Murphy exits and is replaced by the trio of Jared Pike, Katie O'Brien and Whitney Thore for what is being called The 'KZL Morning Show with Jared, Katie and Whitney
 
Rhythmic CHR KUBE/Seattle announces its new morning team of The JV Show with Rico and Selena, which will debut Monday, July 9. The JV Show with Rico and Selena will continue broadcasting from KYLD/San Francisco and will feature custom content created for the Seattle market. "The JV Show with Rico and Selena will be a ratings powerhouse for KUBE 93," says PD Eric Powers. "JV, Rico and Selena’s daily custom show for Seattle’s active and young adults will instantly connect with listeners."

At Rhythmic WPYO/Orlando, Ricky Padilla rises from part-time duties to afternoons.

Modern Rock KROQ/Los Angeles launches KROQ ROQ N BEATS hosted by DJ Jeremiah Red, airing Saturday nights from 10p.m.-midnight. The commercial-free show debuted over the weekend and will feature a mix of dance, electronic and hip-hop music.

At its Denver location, Dial Global parts ways with Classic Hits APD/MD/air talent Jim Hudson and midday AC air personality LaLaine.

In an effort to help combat hundreds of heat exhaustion/stroke-related illnesses each summer, largely due to improper hydration, CHR KWNW (101.9 Radio Now)/Memphis announced today that it will give away 100,000 bottles of water to cool listeners throughout the summer. From June 25th through September 3rd, fans that recycle their water bottles through the designated 101.9 Radio Now bin will be entered to win a VIP trip package to see Pitbull in San Francisco. “101.9 Radio Now is committed to serving the local Memphis community by helping them stay cool and safe throughout the hot summer months,” said Dino Conard, Program Director, 101.9 Radio Now. “Fans will jump at the opportunity for this one-of-a-kind VIP experience with Pitbull in San Francisco while also staying hydrated and recycling their empty bottles.”

Sports WFAN-AM/New York has begun to release more details of its upcoming 25th anniversary celebration, including the programming schedule for Sunday, July 1, the station's actual birthday. Adam Block has been promoted to President of Legacy Recordings, Sony Music Entertainment's catalog label. In his new post,Block will oversee all catalog activity for Sony Music frontline labels while providing curatorial direction for Legacy Recordings releases throughout Sony territories worldwide. He will supervise and coordinate the label's A&R and content development for new releases ranging from multi-media boxed sets to new recordings from Legacy artists.

The Cherrytree Records imprint label is splitting off from Interscope, after seven years under the Interscope umbrella. Cherrytree head Martin Kierszenbaum confirmed the news to Billboard.biz, as the label's contract with Interscope ends as of June 30. Cherrytree's roster includes Robyn, LMFAO, Feist and Far East Movement.

"Advertising… SIMPLIFIED!" presented by Johnny Molson at the Conclave Learning Conference on Thursday, July 19, will distill a number of advertising viewpoints, methods, and choices into very easy to understand steps. In this session, customized specifically for radio to help advertisers get results, Molson will teach the best way to create an advertising campaign, including what to say and how to say it differently from every other commercial, presenting ways to measure the effectiveness of the ad, and how to put these ideas to work NOW. The 37th Conclave Learning Conference will take place Wednesday July 18 to Friday July 20, at the Doubletree Park Place Hotel in Minneapolis, MN.
