Vivendi CEO Jean-Bernard Levy has stepped down from the multinational parent company of Universal Music. According to a statement from Vivendi, Levy is stepping down from the position due to a difference of opinion about the "strategic development of the group." Jean-François Dubos, Vivendi's General Counsel, will replace Levy as Chairman of the company's management board. Levy spent almost a decade as CEO of Vivendi. In its statement, Vivendi noted that "The Vivendi supervisory and management boards gathered in Paris this weekend for their annual two-day meeting to work on the group's strategic orientations. The outcomes of this meeting are not to be released publicly. Vivendi will communicate on its plans and the necessary evolution of the group as and when appropriate."

Howard Stern will be inducted into the Chicago-based Radio Hall Of Fame this November. Time Out Chicago's Robert Feder reports that Stern will join the Hall on November 10, alongside Gary Burbank, Ron Chapman, Art Laboe, Luther Masingill, Jack Cooper (posthumously), and NPR’s Fresh Air, hosted by Terry Gross. It is unknown at this time whether Stern will attend the ceremony himself, but the "King Of All Media" has been outspoken in the past about his absence from the Hall.

As a result of the format flip at WODS/Boston, the following talented folks have exited: afternoon host JJ Wright, middayer Paula Street, the morning team of John Laurenti and Karen Blake and Jay Gordon, the host of Elvis Only (which continues in syndication).

Triple A WNCS/Burlington-Plattburg announces the hiring of Alyssa Lakota to take over Production Director and afternoon drive from the departing Dan Moore. Lakota previously worked at WXLE/Albany before working at MTV and doing some acting roles.

This afternoon at 4 p.m., hosts from WFAN-AM/New York will ring the closing bell on the New York Stock Exchange, as part of the Sports Talk station's celebration of its 25th anniversary. Boomer Esiason, Craig Carton and Steve Somers will all be on hand, joined by CBS Radio President/CEO Dan Mason, as well as CBS Local Media COO Anton Guitano, CBS Radio SVP of Programming Chris Oliviero and CBS Radio-New York SVP/Market Manager Don Bouloukos.
