Black Eyed Peas, Gotye Set RIAA Digital Certification Records

The RIAA has announced its latest round of Gold and Platinum sales certifications for June. The Black Eyed Peas set a new record as their hit "I Gotta Feeling" was certified 8X Platinum, giving it the highest digital single award ever from the RIAA. Overall, the Peas have more digital singles certified than any other act, with 22 million in total.
Gotye's smash hit "Somebody That I Used To Know" also set a record, as he became the first artist to release a certify a digital song as 5X multi-Platinum in under six months.
Additionally, Nicki Minaj's Pink Friday: Roman's Revenge was certified as a Platinum album, while Carrie Underwood's Blown Away went Gold. Florence & The Machine's debut album Lungs was also certified Platinum in June.
Whitney: The Greatest Hits received the highest RIAA certification last month, as the Whitney Houston best-of set was recognized as 5X multi-Platinum.
