Scott Lindy is promoted to Director of Operations at Lincoln Financial Media's Atlanta cluster. Lindy, who will remain in the PD seat at Hot AC WSTR, now has oversight of programming, promotions and marketing for WSTR, WQXI-AM and the Atlanta Falcons Radio Network.
CBS Radio Rhythmic CHR WHJM/Orlando ups Interim PD Bobby Smith to PD officially, as he signs a new multi-year deal with the company. Smith also serves as PD of sister Hot AC WOMX. Smith says, "I’m thrilled to be programming such a legendary station with an amazing sales and promotion team, the call letters WJHM were put together to stand for ‘We’re Jammin’ Hit Music’ and I look forward to continuing to grow that strong ‘102 JAMZ’ brand in Central Florida." The popular podcast the Hammer and Nigel Show has been picked up by Clear Channel Modern Rocker WRZX (X-103) and Fox Indy Sports Radio 1260 WNDE/Indianapolis. The show stars long-time Indianapolis radio and media mainstays Jason Hammer and Nigel Laskowski and will air on Saturday and Sundays nights starting this weekend from 6-10 p.m. on WRZX. WNDE will carry their sports edition on Saturdays in September. The two will also continue to do their "barcast" (podcast) downtown each Thursday Night.
Veteran Milwaukee radio personalities Jordan Lee and Dori Zori have been named the new co-hosts for Non-Comm Triple A WYMS (88Nine RadioMilwaukee)'s morning drive show. As a result, current morning co-host Kallao moves to the weekday afternoon slot.
Tomorrow will reportedly be WFNX/Boston's final day of live broadcasts, as the sale of the longtime Modern Rock station to Clear Channel is slated to become official next week. Tai will handle 6-11 a.m., followed by Jim Ryan 11a-3p and Neal Robert handling 3-7 p.m. 'FNX is expected to run automated and jockless for a time until CC reveals its new format.
Radio One has received another notice from NASDAQ that it faces delisting from the stock exchange, as its shares are trading below $1. Radio One has until January 9, 2013 to bring its stock value back up. As of 1 p.m. ET today, Radio One was trading at 98 cents.
