Patrick says, "It's 106 degrees, the Hottest day of the year in Des Moines and to beat the heat, KAZR, Lazer 103.3 and the Morning Moose threw a 'Snow Day.' For the past couple of days the station joked about winter weather advisories on Court Avenue with 2-4 inches of snow expected. This morning we fulfilled that promise as Lazer turned the outdoor patio at Mickey's Irish Pub into a winter wonderland, courtesy of Insta-snow. The day was filled with your typical winter storm coverage complete with School Closings, winterizing tips for your car, and Des Moines Snow Czar/Public Works Director Bill Stowe on to talk about the freak weather. The station broadcasted all day long with everything from Snow angel contests to having contestants , ummm...write their name in the snow, (ummmm, guy style)."
