Rock KAZR/Des Moines PD Ryan Patrick checks in with FMQB about his station's "Morning Moose Snow Day." Patrick says, "It's 106 degrees, the Hottest day of the year in Des Moines and to beat the heat, KAZR, Lazer 103.3 and the Morning Moose threw a 'Snow Day.' For the past couple of days the station joked about winter weather advisories on Court Avenue with 2-4 inches of snow expected. This morning we fulfilled that promise as Lazer turned the outdoor patio at Mickey's Irish Pub into a winter wonderland, courtesy of Insta-snow. The day was filled with your typical winter storm coverage complete with School Closings, winterizing tips for your car, and Des Moines Snow Czar/Public Works Director  Bill Stowe on to talk about the freak weather. The station broadcasted all day long with everything from Snow angel contests to having contestants , ummm...write their name in the snow, (ummmm, guy style)."

Rock WBZA/Rochester names Justine Paige as its new midday hostess, replacing Violet Woods, who recently exited. Paige joins from sister Country WBEE.
