ESPN sportscaster Doug Gottlieb has signed a multi-platform deal with CBS Sports. Among his other new duties, Gottlieb will host afternoons (3-6 p.m.) on CBS Sports Radio, the recently-announced 24/7 sports network which will launch January 2, 2013.
A funeral mass will be held Thursday, August 2nd at 10 a.m. for WDAS/Philadelphia radio legend Joe "Butterball" Tamburro at the Cathedral Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul at 1723 Race in Philadelphia. Tamburro, who passed away last Friday (7/27) at the age of 70, leaves behind his wife of 44 years, Cynthia, five children and eight grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, the Tamburro family is requesting that donations be made in Joe Tamburro's name to the American Diabetes Association, 150 Monument Road, Suite 100, Bala Cynwyd, PA 19004.
