Dominic Zaccagnini (a.k.a. Zakk Tyler) is appointed APD at Merlin Media Rocker WLUP/Chicago and will also serve as Sports Director for Merlin Media Properties. Tyler is also heard on the WLUP and covers sports reports for the company.

On Tap, Presented by VH1 Classic, a new nightly syndicated radio show hosted by Rock radio vet Nik Carter, is set to debut Monday, August 6. The show will be available weeknights from 7-midnight ET as well as other dayparts throughout the day and originates from VH1 Classic's studio.

Slacker taps Craig Rechenmacher as Chief Marketing Officer and Carter Brokaw as Chief Revenue Officer. Steve Wadsworth is named Executive Chairman.

Clear Channel announces a new campaign with Dodge, promoting the new Dodge Dart as well as the iHeartRadio Festival in Las Vegas. A dozen fans will win a trip to the September concert event, with a grand prize winner getting their own "iHeart Dodge Dart" customized by Pitbull.

Emmis Communications' preferred shareholders have asked a federal court for an order to block a meeting set for August 14 that would change Emmis' bylaws. According to Bloomberg, the changes would wipe out over $34 million in accrued and unpaid preferred stock dividends, eliminate such dividends in the future and remove these shareholders' ability to elect directors. The shareholders allege that these changes are the first step in a new plan for Jeff Smulyan to attempt taking Emmis private once again. Smulyan told an Indianapolis court on Tuesday that he is not planning to take his company private and these changes are intended to raise Emmis' stock price.

Steve Rifkind, Chairman/CEO/Founder of SRC Records is leaving the Universal label as of September 1. He tweeted the news earlier this week. SRC is distributed by Universal Motown and includes Akon and Asher Roth on the Hip-Hop label's roser. Rifkind also founded Loud Records in 1992, which ran for a decade and counted the Wu Tang Clan and Three 6 Mafia among its breakthrough acts.

Spotify has released new information about its user base, saying the streaming service now has 15 million monthly users and four million of them are paid subscribers. The New York Times reports that an executive from the company announced the news at a London conference this week, adding that in January Spotify said it had three million paying users.

Music Choice launches its new lifestyle network aimed at college students, MCU (Music Choice University). MCU will feature a mix of Electronic, Alternative/Indie Rock and Hip-Hop artists. Christina Tancredi, COO of Music Choice stated, "We are committed to serving the college market by providing access to artists and music in their environment.  We are proud of MCU in that it speaks directly to a diverse student base with an authentic voice that allows them to participate with us year round."

VEVO has announced it will launch on OUYA when the Android-based gaming platform comes to market in March 2013.

The list of legendary call letters Law worked at over his 40+ year career includes WWDJ/New York, WRQX/Washington, D.C., WHDH/Boston, KXKL/Denver, WSPD/Toledo, KTRS/St. Louis, New York stations WXLO, WNBC, WABC, WYNY and KABC/Los Angeles.
