Entercom Communications has released its financial results for the second quarter of 2012, as net revenue in Q2 remained flat at $104.6 million. Station expenses fell by five percent to $67.6 million, while station operating income grew 10 percent to $37 million. David J. Field, Entercom President/CEO stated, "I am pleased to report that Entercom generated solid growth in Station Operating Income and Adjusted EBITDA during the second quarter as our ongoing focus on business model reinvention enabled us to expand operating margins. At the same time, our investments in new local brands and content, expanded distribution, enhanced digital platforms, stronger operating systems and sales product development are meaningfully enhancing our competitive position and growth potential. We are increasingly excited about our future opportunities as we continue to deepen our audience engagement and deliver enhanced multi-platform marketing solutions to our customers."
Entravision reports its Q2 financial results for 2012, with net revenue up eight percent from a year ago. Net revenue rose to $54.49 million from almost $50.3 million a year ago. The company's radio division saw its revenue essentially remain flat from Q2 '11, at just under $17.1 million compared to just over that figure a year ago. Operating expenses for Entravision Radio grew one percent to $13.3 million. Entravision's television division saw 13 percent growth in its Q2 revenue to $37.4 million.
Univision has released its second quarter fiscal report, and while net revenue grew 3.8 percent, the Spanish-language broadcasting giant saw its net profits fall by 61.5 percent. The dip to $31.8 million in profits was attributed to a number of expenses, as well as restructuring. Both its radio and television divisions saw increases in the quarter. "In the second quarter of 2012, we worked to bolster our position on the cutting edge of Hispanic media and augmented our digital presence with the launch of our digital network, UVideos," CEO Randy Falco said in a statement. "We continue to develop our three new networks, and are forging ahead with our groundbreaking partnership with ABC News. When you consider these initiatives on top of our networks' strong ratings and the retransmission consent agreements we have already reached with four of our nine major distributors, we believe Univision is on the right track to deliver strong results and continued growth in audience engagement in 2012."
