Spanish BroadcastingSystem (SBS) reported its second quarter financial results, with revenue down for the three month period. Radio net revenue was down three percent to almost $30.3 million in Q2 from $31.2 million a year ago. Overall revenue for SBS was down by three percent as well, from $35.6 million a year ago to $34.6 million. The dip in radio revenue was attributed to national and network sales, offset by increases in barter, interactive and local sales.
Entercom Communications has released its financial results for the second quarter of 2012, as net revenue in Q2 remained flat at $104.6 million. Station expenses fell by five percent to $67.6 million, while station operating income grew 10 percent to $37 million. David J. Entravision reports its Q2 financial results for 2012, with net revenue up eight percent from a year ago. Net revenue rose to $54.49 million from almost $50.3 million a year ago. The company's radio division saw its revenue essentially remain flat from Q2 '11, at just under $17.1 million compared to just over that figure a year ago. Operating expenses for Entravision Radio grew one percent to $13.3 million. Entravision's television division saw 13 percent growth in its Q2 revenue to $37.4 million.
Fisher Communications has reported its Q2 2012 fiscal results, with consolidated revenue up five percent from a year ago to $42.3 million. However, Fisher's radio division saw its net revenue drop by two percent to $5.6 million. Cash flow for Fisher's radio division grew by 12 percent to $1.8 million. Fisher's core TV revenue grew by eight percent to $25.9 million, with its net TV revenue, excluding political revenue, was up 17 percent to $35.8 million.
Saga Communications reported its second quarter results for 2012, with free cash flow increasing 7.3 percent to $6.8 million for the quarter compared to $6.3 million for the same period in 2011. Saga's net operating revenue increased 0.7 percent to $33 million while station operating expense decreased 4.6 percent compared to $22 million in Q2 2011. Operating income from continuing operations was $9.1 million compared to $7.8 million for the same period last year and net income for the period was $5.1 million.
Salem Communications has reported its second quarter financial results, with overall revenue up 3.9 percent to $57.6 million and net broadcast revenue up 2.1 percent to $46.4 million. Station operating income fell by 3.1 percent to $15.9 million, while same station net broadcast revenue was up 1.9 percent to $46.2 million.
Univision has released its second quarter fiscal report, and while net revenue grew 3.8 percent, the Spanish-language broadcasting giant saw its net profits fall by 61.5 percent. The dip to $31.8 million in profits was attributed to a number of expenses, as well as restructuring. Both its radio and television divisions saw increases in the quarter. "In the second quarter of 2012, we worked to bolster our position on the cutting edge of Hispanic media and augmented our digital presence with the launch of our digital network, UVideos," CEO Randy Falco said in a statement. "We continue to develop our three new networks, and are forging ahead with our groundbreaking partnership with ABC News. When you consider these initiatives on top of our networks' strong ratings and the retransmission consent agreements we have already reached with four of our nine major distributors, we believe Univision is on the right track to deliver strong results and continued growth in audience engagement in 2012."
