Clear Channel Media + Entertainment CHR 102.7 KIIS FM/Los Angeles announces that Chuey Martinez has been named the station's new late night host, effective immediately. The L.A. native will host weeknights from 10:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m. Martinez will continue hosting KIIS FM’s weekly Saturday Night Dance Party at Club DV8, where he broadcasts live from Level 3 in Hollywood from 10:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m.
"Chuey’s energy and natural charisma make him the perfect choice to host this time slot on KIIS FM," said John Ivey, CCME VP of CHR Programming & PD of KIIS FM. "His genuine love for music and the station is really infectious, and we know he will build a distinct, passionate and loyal audience right away. We are happy to have him as part of our full-time line up."
"I’m so grateful and excited to have people like John Ivey and Julie Pilat support me in my radio career," said Martinez. "It’s a true honor to be a part of the station that I grew up listening to and I’m excited to take over the late night slot as a full timer."
Martinez grew up in the San Gabriel Valley and landed his first job in radio at the age of 16 in the Promotions Department in Phoenix, AZ. After a year, Chuey returned to Los Angeles and continued developing his craft as an event host in KIIS FM and in 2009 became a part time on-air personality. In addition to his career in radio, he has served as a Los Angeles correspondent for MTV’s Tr3 since 2007. Martinez also has his own show on ESPN, Born and Raised, and most recently began hosting the new Travel Channel show, All You Can Meat.
