Trey Songz
With his fifth effort, Trey Songz finally nabs his first #1 album on the sales chart this week as Chapter V bows atop the list with 135,000 sold, according to Nielsen SoundScan. Throughout his career, each of Songz' albums have peaked progressively higher on the chart, finally culminating in his first #1. Billboard notes that his debut set, 2005's I Gotta Make It, topped out at #20, followed by 2007's Trey Day, which hit #11. Then Ready reached #3 in 2009 and 2010's Passion, Pain & Pleasure climbed to the #2 slot. Songz managed to top the chart in a week when three other new albums also debuted in the Top 10.

At #2 is last week's top-selling album, 2 Chainz' Based on a T.R.U. Story. It sold 48,000 this week. The Now 43 compilation drops to #3 with 45,000, and the #4 slot holds the week's second-highest new debut: DJ Khaled's Kiss the Ring. The set starts with 41,000 units sold, giving Khaled his fourth Top 10 album. This week's #5 effort is Justin Bieber's Believe with 32,000.

Maroon 5's Overexposed is the #6 album with just under 32,000 sold, and Owl City takes a bow at #7 with The Midsummer Station, shifting 30,000 in its first week in stores. This gives Owl City its third top 10 set. Rick Ross' God Forgives, I Don't slides to #8 with 28,000, and Christian band Tenth Avenue North arrives at #9 with The Struggle, selling 26,000 copies.
