No Doubt premiered the new song "Push and Shove" on Ryan Seacrest's KIIS/Los Angeles radio show on Wednesday, and bassist Tony Kanal calls the song "our 'Bohemian Rhapsody.'" The track, which follows "Settle Down" as the second single off No Doubt's comeback album, jumps around between various genres and tempos and features cameos from Major Lazer and Busy Signal. Meanwhile, Gwen Stefani and co. are set to perform on The Ellen DeGeneres Show on September 25, the same day their new album is due. "One of No Doubt's very first stops on their reunion tour in 2009 was The Ellen DeGeneres Show," the band wrote on Facebook. "It's time to continue that tradition! The band will perform live on the show again next month during Push And Shove release week."

With Muse's new album, The 2nd Law, coming on October 2, frontman Matt Bellamy said in an interview with Q magazine that he doesn't mind if people don't take songs such as the Olympic-themed "Survival" completely seriously.  "We don’t care if people don't necessarily take songs like that 100 percent seriously. We're not afraid of our eccentricities, we're not afraid of going into almost Monty Python rock," Bellamy said. "But it's like opera. If you put a piece of opera on, it's ridiculous unless you've listened to the whole thing and just go there with it." Muse recorded The 2nd Law in London, then worked on overdubs in Los Angeles with Beck's father, composer David Campbell. Bellamy said in a previous interview with Rolling Stone that Campbell "understood that film-music thing we were looking for. And he found a lot of amazing people," including a trumpeter who played on Stevie Wonder's "Superstition."

After One Direction announced that a new single, "Live While We're Young," will be arriving on October 1, the British boy band has also revealed that its sophomore album will be called Take Me Home. It is slated to be released in November through Syco/Sony Music. The group's Louis Tomlinson made the name announcement on Twitter when he wrote: "So pleased to tell you that our new album is called 'take me home' can't wait for you to hear it! More news soooon! #takemehome." Meanwhile, 1D will take the stage at the 2012 MTV Video Music Awards on September 6 for their first-ever appearance and performance on the show. They are nominated for Best New Artist and Best Pop Video for "What Makes You Beautiful."

Van Halen has postponed its fall tour of Japan, following Eddie Van Halen's emergency surgery for a "severe bout of diverticulitis." An announcement on the band's website said the guitarist will make a full recovery in four to six months. Van Halen had been slated to play three shows in Japan in late November. They will reschedule the dates for 2013.

Guitarist Gary Clark Jr. will release his full-length debut album for Warner Bros. Records on October 23. The album, for which the title and tracklist will be announced soon, was produced by Clark and Mike Elizondo (Mastodon, Fiona Apple, Dr. Dre). This weekend, Clark will be the only artist to play both nights of Jay-Z's Made In America Festival in Philadelphia. He also will perform at the Austin City Limits Festival the weekend of October 12-14.
