Fundraiser Set For Philly Radio Vet Joe Mama
September 10, 2012

Joe Mama
Joe Mama is best known from nearly a decade's worth of on-air work Top 40 WIOQ (Q102)/Philadelphia in '90s and most recently at 98.1 WOGL. Mama, whose real name is David Redpath, sustained a serious a serious head injury during a fall at his home in July. After being hospitalized, Mama is now in a rehab center as he begins his long journey back to recovery. This tragic event has been especially hard on Mama's parents, Dave and Kathy Redpath, who live in upstate New York. Their expenses related to travel and lodging in Philadelphia simply to be close to their son has created a serious financial hardship. On Tuesday night (September 11), several members of Mama's Philly radio family are holding a benefit to help offset the costs of lodging for Dave and Kathy. The event is at the Aloft Hotel in Mt. Laurel, NJ from 5pm-11pm. There will be guest DJs and special performances from Philly's own Pretty Poison (Jade Starling & Whey Cooler) and Debra Michaels. Donations will be taken at the door to help Dave & Kathy Redpath.

"This will be a very special night to help support Dave & Kathy, parents to a very special guy whose name is synonymous with Philly radio!," says FMQB VP/Managing Director Bob Burke. "Everyone knows and loves Joe Mama! We all know how important family is during our time of need and there is no doubt Mama’s road to recovery is best served with the loving support of his parents."

If you are unable to attend and would like to contribute, there is an account set up for funds. When mailing, please include the following information on the envelope: Citibank, Attn: Peter Gallagher, 22 Pleasantville Road. Ossining, NY 10562. The name on the envelope is very important as to make sure the funds get to Dave and Kathy Redpath.
