Quick Hits: Rihanna, Led Zeppelin, Usher, AC/DC, Rita Ora, Mercury Prize, Nick Lachey
September 13, 2012

It seems hard to believe that Rihanna could have already recorded a new album, but that might be the case. The French branch of her record label, Def Jam, recently tweeted that the singer will drop a new album in November, with a single coming as soon as Monday. However, that tweet has since been deleted and the label tweeted out a new message stating that a Rihanna announcement would be made today. A rep for the singer confirmed to MTV News that Rihanna does have a new album coming out, but didn't provide any further details. Meanwhile, the singer recently announced her 2013 Diamonds World Tour, which will kick off in March.

Led Zeppelin and Blues great Buddy Guy are among the recipients of the 2012 Kennedy Center Honors. TV icon David Letterman and actor Dustin Hoffman are also among this year's winners. Jimmy Page, Robert Plant and John Paul Jones will receive individual Kennedy Center medals, as well as the band as a whole being honored. The ceremony will be broadcast as a two-hour special on CBS on December 26.
In other Led Zep news, as expected the band will release a film of their 2007 reunion concert later this year. Titled Celebration Day, it will screen in over 1,500 theaters around the world on October 17. Celebration Day will then be released in "multiple video and audio formats" on November 19, with more details to be announced soon. You can see the trailer for Celebration Day below:

On Sunday night, Usher will be sitting down with Oprah Winfrey on her Next Chapter show. The OWN network released a teaser clip of the pre-taped interview in which Oprah asks Usher a number of candid questions about his ex-wife and his custody battle for their children, as well as about his relationship with his mother. The entire interview will air on Sunday, September 16 at 9 p.m. EST on OWN.

AC/DC will release AC/DC Live At River Plate, their first live album in 20 years, on November 20. AC/DC Live At River Plate was recorded in Buenos Aires in December 2009, chronicling one of the largest shows from their successful Black Ice World Tour. The 19 tracks on the live album include "Back In Black," "Thunderstruck," "You Shook Me All Night Long" and "Rock N Roll Train." AC/DC Live At River Plate will be available as a special three-disc red vinyl package as well as a two-CD package featuring multiple covers and a special 24-page booklet.

U.K. songstress Rita Ora is the next artist to grace the stage of MTV's Unplugged. Featuring a five-song set, Ora's full performance will premiere beginning today at 2 p.m. EST across MTV’s websites including Unplugged.MTV.com and Ora's Artists.MTV page. A one-song preview will also air across AMTV, MTV Hits and MTVU. The show was filmed in New York City's urban NEP Metropolis Studio and it features a moving rendition of Stevie Wonder's 1980s track "Love Light in Flight."
