Cee Lo Gets In The Holiday Spirit
September 21, 2012

Cee Lo Green
More details have been unveiled about Cee Lo Green's Christmas album, Cee Lo's Magic Moment, which is due on October 30. It will feature a number of special guests, including The Muppets, who join Green on an original song called "All I Need Is Love." Cee Lo's Magic Moment also finds Green joining his The Voice co-star Christina Aguilera for the seasonal favorite "Baby, It's Cold Outside," and Rod Stewart shows up for "Merry Christmas, Baby." Another guest on the album is acclaimed a capella group Straight No Chaser, who join Green on "You’re A Mean One, Mr. Grinch."

"You'll really enjoy it," Green told Rolling Stone recently about the album. "It's definitely a great soulful spin on Christmas classics. I did a version of 'You're a Mean One, Mr. Grinch.' That says a lot. Just ponder on that." Green also tackles songs like "White Christmas," "Run Rudolph Run," "All I Want For Christmas" and "Silent Night."

In other news, Rod Stewart, The Muppets and past contestants from The Voice will join Green for Cee Lo and Friends, a one-time show to be held at Las Vegas' Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino on October 10. The one-time concert will be filmed and will premiere November 26 on The Warner Sound, Warner Music Group's original YouTube channel.

Most recently, Green announced that he will take a break from The Voice for season four in order to focus on his many other projects. The singer/songwriter is working on a new solo LP, an album with Goodie Mob, and he's planning a residency in Las Vegas that is set to premiere on Wednesday, February 27, 2013. He also has a memoir and a sitcom in the works for NBC.
