WYEP/Pittsburgh has announced that Joey Spehar, long time volunteer host of the station's Friday Night Block Party, will join Cindy Howes as co-host of ’YEP's Morning Mix. Spehar started as an intern while a student at Robert Morris University, learning the ropes of radio production, before becoming a volunteer host on the Friday evening show, Block Party, from 8p.m.-Midnight. That show was created to reach a younger demographic to the station. He has also worked as a producer for The Allegheny Front, a Pittsburgh-produced radio program covering Western Pennsylvania environmental issues that airs on 90.5 WESA.

Clear Channel announces it has closed on its private debt exchange offer. Journal Communications has reported its financial results for Q3 2012, with overall revenue up by 11.4 percent to $97.8 million. Its core broadcast revenue (excluding political, issue and Olympic ad revenue) grew by 5.5 percent, while total broadcast revenue grew by 25 percent.

Canadian broadcaster Corus Entertainment announced its fiscal fourth quarter results, with revenue down two percent to $195.6 million Canadian. Corus' radio division was essentially flat in the quarter, at $47.75 million Canadian, with profit up slightly to just under $15 million Canadian.
