September Triton Rankings Show Digital Listener Growth

Triton has released its September Internet audio rankings, showing another month of growth in its listenership metrics. After declines in June and July, Pandora and Clear Channel's digital listenership numbers are up for the second month in a row. For the Domestic work week ranker (M-F, 6a-8p), Pandora's Average Active Streams (AAS) was up to 1,532,045 from 1,477,244 AAS in August, though Session Starts fell from over 720 million to approximately 667.5 million in September. Clear Channel's AAS for the month was 259,595, up slightly from 256,542 AAS in August.

Cumulus was ranked third, followed by CBS Radio, Slacker, Cox Radio, EMF Corporate, ESPN Radio, Entercom and a newcomer to Triton's rankings, NPR at #10.

Looking at the All Streams Ranker for the full week, Clear Channel was #1 once more in September with 261,637 AAS. Digitally Imported was ranked #2, with Prisa Radio moving up to #3. Cumulus, CBS Radio, Slacker, 977Music.com, Cox, EMF and ESPN rounded out the top ten.

For the full week (6a-mid) Domestic Ranker, Pandora was #1 with an increase in AAS to 1,320,985, followed by Clear Channel with 176,549 AAS. Cumulus, Slacker, CBS Radio, Cox, EMF, ESPN, Entercom and NPR filled out the top ten.

The All Streams Ranker for September for the full week (6a-mid) ranked Clear Channel at #1 once again, with Digitally Imported at #2, Prisa at #3, then Slacker, Cumulus, CBS Radio, 977Music.com, Cox, EMF and Entercom.
