As part of Google's announcement on Monday of its new Nexus phones and tablets, the company also revealed it has signed a deal with Warner Music Group, bringing the label's catalog to the Google Play service. Google Play now sells the music catalogs of all the major labels. In the announcement, Google SVP for Mobile & Digital Content Andy Rubin wrote, "We’re now working with all of the major record labels globally, and all the major U.S. magazine publishers, as well as many independent labels, artists and publishers."

Google also announced that its Google Play music store will launch in the UK, France, Germany, Italy and Spain as of November 13. The company will also use "scan and match" software for Google Play in Europe, rather than having users upload their music to the cloud. Rubin said that this technology will be coming to the U.S. "soon after" November 13.

Earlier this year, Google combined its MP3 store with the Android app for purchasing digital music and video as Google Play.
