Justin Bieber

Justin Bieber will donate $1 of every ticket sold to his four upcoming New York-area concerts to the ongoing recovery effort for Hurricane Sandy victims. Those shows include a November 9 concert at the IZOD Center in East Rutherford, NJ, a November 12 show at Brooklyn's Barclay's Center and his two-night stand at Madison Square Garden on November 28-29. "After talking with the team, I am proud to announce that for the four NYC area shows — the Jersey show, the Brooklyn show and two [Madison Square Garden shows], we are going to donate $1 to Hurricane Sandy relief," Bieber wrote on his Facebook page on November 8. "Thanks for helping us. #GIVEBACK."

Clear Channel Media and Entertainment, The Madison Square Garden Company and The Weinstein Company -- the same group that produced and sponsored the 9/11 benefit "The Concert for New York City" -- have come together once again to present "12-12-12 (A Concert For Sandy Relief)." The live music event will help provide assistance to the millions of people throughout the tri-state area who have been affected by Hurricane Sandy. "12-12-12 (A Concert For Sandy Relief)" will occur on December 12, 2012 at Madison Square Garden in New York. More details on the event and the artist lineup will be released in the coming days. All money raised will be administered directly to those who need it most, through the Robin Hood Relief Fund.

After resisting iTunes for years, Kid Rock has agreed to sell his new album, Rebel Soul, via the digital retailer. The new record is due on November 19. "We have landed," Kid Rock manager Lee Trink told Rolling Stone. "Times are different than they were on the last release. There are fewer record stores available, and there are fans who don't necessarily want to get in the car and drive to the store. They've been accustomed to buying it digitally. He's proven his point that he was able to have an incredibly successful record without iTunes, [but] that doesn't mean you can't reassess the landscape and take a look at people's buying behaviors."
Kid Rock will also perform live at halftime of his hometown Detroit Lions' annual Thanksgiving game. The Lions face the Houston Texans on Thanksgiving this month. It will be the Kid's second Thanksgiving halftime performance in three years. "It's great because I'm home for Thanksgiving, number one, and it's a huge television audience," Rock tells Billboard.com. "I get to be in front of the hometown fans and it's great to have my family down there and then go eat some turkey and watch the next football game. It's such a tradition. I used to go these games with my dad and my brother every year since I was a kid, so to be part of it now, musically, is just great -- especially when you've got a record coming out. It's a win-win; you get to promote the record, play some new stuff for the hometown fans and be home with the family."

Pearl Jam is offering a new "Instant Classic" bootleg series that will boast the latest recordings of gigs that the band feel are "one for the books." Their headlining performance in Missoula, MT on September 30, 2012 is the gig that will kick off the special live series, and it can be ordered now via the band's official website. As for a new Pearl Jam album, bassist Jeff Ament recently told Guerilla Candy: "People want to know what's going on with the next record and I think everybody has sort of talked about it, but it still really isn't anything. We still don't really know exactly when we will finish it so it's hard to talk about it. It really could be anything at this point. Even though we have seven or eight songs recorded it's still sort of a blank slate and that's exciting."

Adam Lambert will be hosting this year's VH1 Divas special, which will celebrate the ladies of dance music. Ciara, Miley Cyrus, Demi Lovato, Kelly Rowland and Jordin Sparks will perform, and the show will feature tributes to late VH1 Divas Whitney Houston and Donna Summer. The show airs live on Sunday, December 16 at 9 p.m. ET, and it benefits the VH1 Save The Music Foundation.

Death Cab For Cutie's catalog from their years on Barsuk Records will be compiled into a new vinyl box set, which is due on January 7. The Barsuk Years contains eight records from the band's 1997 cassette-only "demo," You Can Play These Songs With Chords, through 2003's Transatlanticism. Each release is packaged individually in its own jacket with the album's original artwork, and then collected in an individually-numbered cloth-bound box and signed by the band.

Trent Reznor's band How To Destroy Angels will release its An Omen EP on November 13, but the EP is now streaming online via Hype Machine. Reznor's band also features his wife Mariqueen Maandig, producer/musician Atticus Ross and artist Rob Sheridan, and their first full-length record will be out in the first quarter of 2013. "Music videos will start to creep out pretty soon. You'll hear about some live performances coming up. That's going to happen next year," Reznor told Rolling Stone. "We're just trying to have fun and try to give it its best shot for people to actually check it out. And that was one of the main reasons we decided to sign with Columbia."

Next Tuesday, November 13, in a special, one-day-only promotion, mobile Beatles pop-up shops in the form of customized double-decker buses will hit the streets of New York and Los Angeles, making three stops in each city throughout the day. The mobile shops will be deployed to celebrate Tuesday’s anticipated 180-gram vinyl LP release of The Beatles’ remastered studio albums in stereo.
